Sources say Michael B. Jordan and his short-term girlfriend, Lori Harvey, are expecting a baby boy.
Jordan seemed to confirm the rumor that he’s expecting a son during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” this week.
Lori’s parents, Steve Harvey, 64, and Marjorie Harvey, 56, are not getting any younger. They want a grandson while they’re still young enough to keep up with him.
The 34-year-old “Black Panther” star says he won’t follow his family’s tradition of naming is son after him.
Michael is named after his father, Michael A. Jordan, and has said he has no plans to name his future son Michael C. Jordan, as he doesn’t want his children to go through the same “pressure” he went through in living up to the famous moniker.
“I am breaking that circle right there. It’s too much. The pressure I had to live up to my dad’s name and I’m not gonna put that on my kid,” he grinned. “I’m gonna give him his own identity. He’s gotta walk in his own shoes.”
Rumors began swirling after Michael and Lori were spotted out on a romantic dinner date in Malibu, California late last month. The socialite carefully concealed her mini baby bump from the paparazzi.
The baby is the first for Michael and Lori, 24, who previously dated Sean Combs and Future Hendrix, while Michael has been linked with models Ashlyn Castro and Cindy Bruna.
Michael also heaped praise on his infant nephew Lennox, whose arrival last year provided a distraction from family pressuring him to have kids of his own.
“He bought me some time,” Michael told Ellen. “Lennox definitely gave me a break right there.”
