A 3-year-old boy who was abducted at gunpoint by his noncustodial father was returned home safely on Thursday.
Police say Kashief Brooks, 17, kidnapped 3-year-old son J’Shawn Winn following an argument with the boy’s mother in College Park, Georgia on Tuesday.
Officers arrived at the home on Tigris Court just after 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 9, but Brooks and the boy were gone.
While Brooks is J’Shawn’s father, police said he does not have permission to take him.
A BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued by Clayton County police, who got in touch with Brooks via his cell phone. Brooks agreed to return the boy to his mother after the BOLO was issued.
J’Shawn was returned safely to his home early Thursday, but Brooks is still at large. There is a warrant out for his arrest.
Brooks faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.
Anyone with information on Brooks’ whereabouts is asked to call Clayton police at 770-477-3550.
