Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman is celebrating after former Hot Boys rapper B.G. was released from prison on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Videos uploaded to Instagram show Birdman greeting his former artist at the airport.
B.G., born Christopher Noel Dorsey, 42, was arrested in 2009 after a cop pulled his car over and found a loaded weapon. In 2011 he pled guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice by tampering with a witness. He was sentenced in 2012 to serve 14 years in federal prison.
B.G. began rapping while attending middle school in New Orleans. He met Bryan “Birdman” Williams (a.k.a. Baby) in a barbershop in 1993. Birdman and his brother “Slim” allowed the teen to move in with them. They later signed him to Cash Money Records.

B.G. released several solo albums, including the platinum-selling Chopper City in the Ghetto in 1999.
In 2001, B.G. left Cash Money Records. He claimed he left over a financial dispute with Birdman and Slim. He released his sixth studio album Livin’ Legend on his own label, Chopper City Records.
