Cardi B‘s new single “Imaginary Playerz” is a huge flop on Spotify, despite the Jay-Z sample and the Nicki Minaj diss.

The single made an unspectacular debut at #147 with over 336,000 streams.

Cardi released “Imaginary Playerz” on August 15 to mixed reviews. Most fans hated Cardi B’s flow which failed to catch up to the beat.

On the song, Cardi B brags about her wealth and access to high fashion designers, while dissing Nicki Minaj who has beef with Jay-Z over royalties owed.

“Imaginary Playerz” is the second single off Cardi B’s upcoming album, Am I the Drama?

On the other hand, the music video racked up over 2.5 million views in 3 days on Youtube.

One YouTuber wrote: “She is stepping out of her box and trying a new style and flow.”

Another person wrote: “She stepped it up and brought the wealth, class, maturity that Hov brings.”

A third person wrote: “I see a lot of people hatting on the song. Me personally I like it.”

“Imaginary Playerz” samples Jay-Z’s “Imaginary Players” track off his 1997 album, In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. Both songs sample Rene and Angela’s 1982 R&B hit “Imaginary Playmates”.
