Summer Walker recreated Pamela Anderson’s iconic MTV VMAs look on the red carpet at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. The awards were held on Sunday, Sept. 7, at UBS Arena 2025 in Elmont, New York.
Summer introduced her older Caucasian “sugar daddy” as her “special friend.”
Social media erupted when Summer and her date kissed on the red carpet.
One X (Twitter) user wrote: “Summer Walker got her a white sugar daddy I know that’s right and he looks happy to be with her.”
Another user wrote: “Wait is this summer walker? Who is this grandpa I missed a chapter.”
The R&B singer, 29, wore a white silk corset, sequined capri pants and a large fluffy hat. Back in 1999, Pamela Anderson walked the VMAs red carpet wearing a similar white corset, sequined capris, and her iconic pink fluffy hat, designed by Ivy Supersonic.
Summer told Entertainment Tonight she was channeling Pamela’s iconic 1999 VMAs lewk. “You know, she had the same, obviously in pink, for her VMA look,” Summer said.
In related news, pop superstar Doja Cat wore a pastel blue-and-yellow harlequin mini dress from Balmain’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection. She complimented her outfit with a pair of yellow and gold towering platform heels.
Singer Tyla wore a corset from Chanel Spring 1993 collection. She styled the corset as a mini dress with black peek-a-boo panties.
She accessorized with an assortment of gold jewelry around her neck, wrists and waist, along with a pair of black pointy toe Christian Louboutin high heels.
Hollywood power couple LL Cool J, 57, and his wife Simone Smith walked the red carpet wearing houndstooth suits and hats.
