Ray J updated his fans following his emergency hospitalization for pneumonia and symptoms of heart failure.
Ray J was discharged from a Las Vegas hospital, buy says he is in heart failure and his heart is pumping at only 25% of functional capacity.
That means his heart is not pumping enough blood around his body to sustain his life.
The heart’s functional capacity is measured by the percentage of blood that pumps with each heart contraction.
Ray J claims his heart only pumps 25% of blood with each contraction. He seemed exhausted in the video. He leaned on a counter as he spoke to the camera.
Ray J should be in ICU if his heart capacity is only 25%.
Symptoms of Heart Failure
Symptoms of heart failure include chest pain or pressure, shortness of breath, fatigue (weakness), swelling in legs and ankles, difficulty sleeping, wake up coughing, irregular heartbeat.
The 45-year-old singer/actor didn’t seem worried as he puffed on a cigarette in a livestream video.
“My heart’s only beating like 25%, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, then everything will be all right. So thank you for all your prayers,” Ray J said.
He captioned the video: Just almost died!! I’m alive because of your prayers and support!!”
Ray J is the younger brother of singer/actress Brandy Norwood. His 1997 debut single, “Let It Go”, was on the soundtrack to the F. Gary Gray film, “Set It Off.”
