Russell Wilson is retiring from the National Football League. He is finalizing a deal to join CBS Sports as an NFL analyst, according to the Associated Press.
The 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback and Super Bowl champion will replace Matt Ryan on “NFL Today.” Matt left CBS to become president of football for the Atlanta Falcons.

In March 2025, Russell signed a one-year deal with the NY Giants worth a reported $21 million. But the 37-year-old lost his starting job to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, 23, after the Giants fell to 0-3 on the season.
In 2024 the Denver Broncos benched Russell then cut him from the team. A month later he signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Russell played 14 seasons in the NFL.
He won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks in the 2013 season. He passed for 46,966 yards, 353 touchdowns and 114 interceptions during his stellar career.

Russell and his wife, Ciara, launched 3BRAND kids’ clothing line in 2021. The clothing line surpassed the $100 million mark in sales in 2024.
Russell and Ciara, 40, donated $250,000 to a Seattle food bank in 2025.

Ciara, a Grammy-winning R&B singer, found even more fame as Russell Wilson’s wife.
Friends say the “Goodies” singer will miss the spotlight as an NFL wife. She had grown accustomed to attending NFL games and rubbing elbows with celebrities and VIPs in private boxes at stadiums.
Sources say Ciara will focus on the couple’s business ventures while raising their 3 children. She also has a son with rapper Future Hendrix.
