Charles Pope, the founder and only original member of The Tams, passed away at his home in Atlanta today. Mr. Pope was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 76 years old.
Mr. Pope is survived by his wife Dianne Pope; and his children, former Xscape singer Tameka “Tiny” Harris, Albert “Little Redd” Cottle, and Michelle Pope.
Mr. Pope was a legendary musician and a loving husband and father. He will be missed. My family and I send our condolences to the Pope family.

Charles and Diane came into my store and was shopping for the grandkids some years ago,. Very nice people. Ms.diane is very warming and loving and Mr.pope didnt say anything just smiled. Had his suite on too! Sorry to hear of this loss,… Very nice family.
My thoughts and prayers are with Tiny, her mother, siblings and family. I lost my Grandmother to Alzheimer’s (my Dad’s mother) and my Aunt (my Dad’s oldest sister) is living with it now. My Dad was even in the beginning stages when he passed. This disease is very tough on families and caretakers. Ms. Dianne is such a strong and loving wife. She and Mr. Charles are the epitome of their vows “till death do us part”. When you love, you are there until the end.

Tiny official Facebook page can be found on her verified twitter accout. Tiny is more active on instagram more than anything. From what i was told Zonnique is on tour and dont know. Good Morning. I loved to see the interaction with Tiny and her dad. May he rest in peace. In all my 40 years I have never called a man daddy or dad. Yes I knew my father but I never felt comfortable calling him daddy. I called him Mr. Jordan. Sounds sad huh but that is the way it was. I admire women who have a strong relationship with their father. When he died when I was 16 I was numb cause I felt relieved but ppl wanted me to be sad. Again rest in peace.

Not true. Zonnique was informed within minutes.. Tiny’s brother is on tour with The Tams and he was informed within minutes. Don’t believe what u read on the Internet.
My condolences….I lost my mom to breast cancer at the age of 11. I’m 40 and that void is still there…it’s a deep void too. Losing an active parent is akin to losing a compass in the woods at any age. No one can or will give you that loving foundational wisdom like a parent. My prayers are with her and her family.

My mother has alzheimers. It is very difficult on the family.
My mom is totally dependent on others to care for her. It hurts a little when she looks at me and I know she does not know who I am.
On a lighter note… she knows my children! That makes me happy!
