Singer Beyonce may be revered by her fans in the United States, but in England she’s just another self-centered, ungrateful celebrity who can’t keep time.
Concertgoers at the V Festival 2013 at Highlands Park in Chelmsford, UK BOOED Beyonce when she hit the stage 20 minutes late for a performance on Saturday. Thousands of concertgoers showed the Burlesque dancer that they did not appreciate her keeping them waiting in the pouring rain.
In addition to Beyonce’s tardiness, the sound was awful according to one concertgoer. “The sound was so terrible people were just walking away halfway through her set.”
Beyonce thanked the remaining fans for sticking around. “Thank you all so much for waiting in the rain … Now let’s have some fun in the rain. It feels good doesn’t it,” she said.
But fans didn’t feel so good when they found out that Beyonce kept them waiting for 20 minutes because she didn’t want to get her wig wet.
Beyonce’s diva attitude surfaced even before the festival started. The V Festival was broadcast live for fans at home who couldn’t attend the concerts. But Beyonce’s set was mysteriously blacked out on TV. That’s because Bey refused to give Channel 4 broadcasting rights, according to NME.
Hosts Edith Bowman and Steve Jones told NME that Beyonce refused to give them clearance to air her set.
