A bodyguard who protected the industry’s most famous urban celebrities was tasered to death by cops after he broke into a home, the Miami Herald reports.
Police say Norman Oosterbroek, 43, was stark naked and high on drugs when he broke into a neighbor’s home and attacked her around 10:45 p.m. Monday night.
Christiane Jung told police she looked out her window and spotted Oosterbroek at her back door. Jung screamed for her husband, Markus, who confronted Oosterbroek. While Markus called 911, Oosterbroek allegedly began beating Jung with one hand while ingesting pills with other hand.
Police arrived on the scene within minutes and used stun guns to subdue the raving man. Oosterbroek fell to the ground and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
“He was highly violent, uncontrollable and obviously wasn’t stable,” police spokeswoman Nancy Perez told the Miami Herald.
The Miami Herald reports that Oosterbroek’s elevated body temperature was consistent with someone under the influence of cocaine or Bath Salts. Perez said a white powdery substance was found on his body.
Neighbors say Oosterbroek lived with his wife in a gated community off Old Cutler Road.
It was the second taser-related death in Miami in the past month. A street artist died after he was Tasered in the chest by Miami Beach police who caught him tagging a McDonald’s with spray paint.
Oosterbroek travelled all over the world with A-list celebrity clients including Lady Gaga.
His other clients included Beyonce and her husband Jay Z, and troubled singer Rihanna who has well-known drug and alcohol problems of her own.
