This past Saturday, Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Ne-Yo hosted a pre-Mother’s Day Brunch honoring 4 metro Atlanta foster and single mothers at his Compound recording facility.
The Def Jam recording artist invited the media out to have lunch and interview the ladies as a precursor to his Mother’s Day Brunch Serenade on May 11 in Atlanta where his Compound Foundation will honor 50 metro Atlanta foster and single mothers in Atlanta.
“We hope to bring attention to state of the foster care system in America and to honor mothers that deserve recognition. It is very easy for this group to get lost in the system and ignored because they are not troubled or dysfunctional; they are normal and super normal,”
“They wake up each morning and go about the day’s activities selflessly; sometimes forsaking their own needs,” said Ne-Yo, who’s real name is Shaffer C. Smith. “We want them to know we care and that we recognize their efforts,” said Reynell Hay. Ne-Yo’s Compound Foundation is part of the Compound Entertainment music label formed in partnership between Ne-Yo and business partner Reynell Hay.
The May 11 Mother’s Day brunch is invitation only.

This is a nice event. Kudos to Neyo for celebrating the MOM(s) out there. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. I really like Neyo as an artist and I am growing to like him as a individual. He is not only talented when it comes to music, he speaks well in interviews and appears to have great character.
Love Neyo, but the hat on at the table is not a good look..
If thats Ne-yo’s mom, she has surely come a loooong way.
is that her?
Have you seen him w/ it off?
Why is it that no one rushes to post comments on a nice story where no one is taking sh!t or trying to clown!?? I mean, I’m guilty of it too, if we can take the time to write and fight all day about a chick wearing tutu, then we can take the time out to thank Ne-Yo for the good deeds he’s doing.
So, congratulations to Ne-Yo for showing mothers some love and being a role model for what ALL Black men need to be doing; uplifting women, especially our Black women.

NEYO IS ACTUALLY A GREAT PERSON. HE HAS ALOT OF PERSONALITY AND GREAT PERFORMANCES!
I mean I get the poitn about the hat off but in some cases, you get a pass — he probably had it on for the pictures only.

I have seen him live only once and even then he was good … I enjoyed his performance then.
That is soo sweet of him to do this! Kudos to Neeyo
Thats a really nice thing for Neyo to do….there are many appreciative kids out there that know the importance of these women! It takes a mighty heart!

May The Almighty God bless this young man. He has done a great thing. We need more ppl in the community like him and those mothers that he is honoring.
