My response to Lloyd Dinwiddie Pt. 2

Last week I promised that I would write a post detailing how Lloyd Dinwiddie aka Gyant admitted to me that he had “accidentally” recorded an unfinished track while interviewing a local producer. I’ll make this short because I have a lot of work to do:

One day in November 2007, Gyant called me with what he said was big news. He said he was interviewing a very popular Atlanta producer when the producer suddenly asked him if he wanted to hear a track he was working on for a singer that some may say is a superstar (I added that last part). Gyant said the producer walked him into another room in the studio and played the track for him. Gyant claimed he didn’t know at the time that his video camera was on and he recorded part of the song.

I asked him if the song was any good. His answer surprised me: he asked if I wanted the snippet to post on my site. I jumped at the opportunity to post the snippet on my site because I didn’t particularly care for the artist. In fact, I began writing the post in my head when Gyant suddenly retracted his offer. I was very disappointed to say the least.

Beyonce and Jay Z apply for marriage license

I didn’t realize people could marry camels in New York? Lol, I kid I kid. People.com reports that Beyonce and Jay Z have taken out a marriage license which is good for 60 days. So that’s 60 days of free publicity that they will milk for all it’s worth.

That’s 60 days of being hit over the head with saturation coverage of Beyonce and Jay Z by a clueless media which doesn’t realize its being used.

But don’t worry, you will not see another mention of this on my site until the day they actually tie the knot (IF they tie the knot). I’m only mentioning this publicity stunt because if I don’t post it, I will get emails all day from well-meaning readers who think I’m not aware of it.

T.I.’s message to at-risk youth

Photo by Freddyo Exclusively for Sandrarose.com

As you know, rapper T.I., has been ordered to complete 1000 hours of community service speaking to troubled youth on the dangers of drugs, gangs and guns. On Monday, T.I., real name Clifford Harris, visited the Inner Harbour for Children and Families and the Carver Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta.

T.I.’s new platform for at risk boys is called “Stop Teen on Teen Violence” which is overseen by It’s Cool To Be Smart in collaboration with the Music Education Group.

While at the Inner Harbour facility, Mr. Harris spoke to the kids on topics concerning managing their anger and walking away from negative influences and environments. Here’s part of what he said,

“what you see in videos and what you listen to is just entertainment but what I am talking to you about today about gang prevention, positive reintegration into the community and school, establishing a positive pattern of behavior, and allowing yourself to trust positive people is real!”

Did substance abuse contribute to Sean Levert’s death?

According to TMZ.com, sources at the Cuyahoga County Jail where R&B singer Sean Levert was detained for non-payment of child support, say Levert may have been under the influence of an unknown substance and had to be physically restrained by corrections officers.

Levert lost consciousness sometime after being restrained. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Levert had a history of high blood pressure according to his family.

Staff at the Cuyahoga County Jail tell us Levert was “out of control” and “hallucinating,” forcing them to place him in a restraining chair, because he was a danger to himself. The jail’s warden Kevin McDonough says Levert was cooperative and “went willingly” when jail staff bound his wrists and shackled his feet. The Cuyahoga County Coroner tells us Levert’s body showed no signs of physical trauma, nor do they suspect foul play. They are currently awaiting toxicology results — those will take four to six weeks to come back. (Source)

Lil’ Wayne Covers Vibe Magazine (again)

Another Vibe cover that looks like it needs to be sprayed with Lysol and hung up to dry. Why does Vibe keep putting Lil’ Wayne on their cover? The only reason I’m posting this is because word in the streets (or in the studio, as the case may be) is Lil’ Wayne has taken back up with Lauren London.

I know, I dismissed the notion too. Lauren looks like her standards are a little higher than Nivea and Toya. But the source (who isn’t one of my sources) says Wayne serenades Lauren every night in the studio here in the A. The source knows for sure that Wayne and Lauren were at the studio late last week.

I don’t care about any of this, but I know some of you do. Anyway, I’ve asked for photo confirmation which I doubt I’ll receive. Should I name the studio in hopes that someone will post up in the bushes and snaps photos?

Photo of the Day: Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Bill Clinton

Well, well, what do we have here? Some of you may have already seen this photo, but I am seeing it for the first time thanks to Alexis Stodghill, web producer at Black Voices.

Alexis has a source in or around Washington DC (we have to protect our sources, girl) who is privy to the guest list of all White House functions during Clinton’s term in office. The source remembered how happy Bill Clinton was to have the Rev. Jeremiah Wright as his personal guest at a White House breakfast.

Afterwards, Clinton sent Rev. Wright a warm note thanking the Pastor for his “kind message and Prayers.” Maybe Hillary Rodham Clinton isn’t aware that this photo exists. So I have taken the liberty of emailing the photo to her campaign headquarters and also to her publicist.

It’s the least I could do considering she won’t be around next year.

Video: Barack Obama on The View

Presidential democratic candidate Barack Obama spoke on his relationship with his former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright on The View this past Friday (3/28). For those who missed it, here’s the video.

Watch as Obama shakes hands with Elizabeth, but hugs everyone else. I think Obama handled himself very well against the blond Terminator. Fox News examined Obama’s body language in a segment last night. Due to their obvious bias, their results are not credible. But I must say that Obama appeared stiff on the couch. He also didn’t make eye contact with the ladies which is not good.

FLAWLESS!

You can’t buy the kind of style and grace that Rihanna possesses naturally. That girl would look hot wearing a plastic trash bag! Rihanna does her so effortlessly. All men can do is drop their jaws and stare as she passes by.
