The rapper turned himself in to federal authorities on Thursday, September 23.
His lawyer, Charles Kuck, tells TMZ:
"Last night's manufactured charges are yet another example of how our justice system, from ICE down to the local level, unjustly targets young black men who seek to exercise their rights. There is no legitimate basis for these charges nor for ICE's continued antics, and we will fight until Mr. Joseph is justly vindicated."
At the time of last night's arrest, Savage was out on bond while awaiting a deportation hearing in connection with his 2019 immigration battle.
The "Bank Account" rapper, born Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was previously arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Atlanta, Georgia in 2019 after the feds discovered his visa had expired and he was in America illegally.
Savage is best known for dating socialite Amber Rose, right.
A hearing on his immigration status has been set for November. 21 Savage is still in police custody.

21 Savage's brother Terrell Davis was stabbed to death in London on Sunday, multiple outlets report.
Davis, 27, was fatally stabbed during an argument with a friend, a source close to the family said.
Davis was shopping for his grandmother who is on lockdown due to reported rise in Covid-19 positive tests. The argument between the two men escalated into violence and the man stabbed Davis "out of the blue." Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Davis and the rapper, who were both born in London, share the same father, Kevin Emmons.
21 Savage confirmed his brother's death on Instagram.com. "Can't believe somebody took you baby bro I know I took my anger out on you I wish I could take that s*** back."
The source said the rapper has not been back to London after his arrest on immigration charges in 2019. His immigration case is ongoing.
Rapper 21 Savage explained why he purchased a brand new Range Rover for King Von's sister, Kayla B -- but didn't buy his own baby mama one.
Von, 26, was shot and killed in Atlanta on Nov. 6. An emotional 21 Savage, whose real name is Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, took to social media to vow that he would always take care of Kayla's financial needs.
He made good on the promise 2 weeks later by purchasing a white Range Rover for Kayla's birthday.
The rapper's own relatives questioned his good deed -- and one of 21 Savage's baby mamas, who never received such an extravagant gift from him, also had something to say online.
Sources say 21 Savage never took care of his late friend FBG Duck’s family. He never bought Duck's mom a car.
Kayla saw the salty comments and rushed to the defense of her "brother."
But the hateration continued, forcing 21 Savage to deny he was flossing for the internet:
"I never speak on stuff like this because I don't do it for the internet but y'all being disrespectful. Von was already planning on purchasing the gift for her birthday and due to his untimely passing, he wasn't able to finish so all i did was finish what he started because I told kayla when he passed I had her 4L and I meant it. All the immature comments and speculations surrounding this are very insensitive please keep them to yourself. Respect to his family, his children, O'Block, OTF, and anybody else I left out."
