Rihanna wore Bottega Veneta as she accepted her National Hero Insignia during the Barbados Presidential Inauguration Ceremony in Bridgetown on November 28.

On Tuesday, she wore a cream colored outfit by Bottega Veneta as celebrations continued in Bridgetown, Barbados. Her mother, brother and various family members attended the celebrations on Tuesday.

Rihanna was honored as a National Hero as Barbados celebrated its independence from Britain after removing Queen Elizabeth II as head of state.

According to BACKGRID.com, the 33-year-old pop singer wore a Bottega Veneta satin halterneck dress with Manolo Blahnik Leva sandals and Briony Raymond Old Euro sloan ring.

"On behalf of a grateful nation, but an even prouder people, we therefore present to you, the designee for national hero of Barbados Ambassador Robyn Rihanna Fenty," said Prime Minister, Mia Mottley. "May you continue to shine like a diamond," Mottley added, referencing Rihanna's 2012 hit single "Diamonds."

Rihanna, who was born in St. Michael and raised in Bridgetown, thanked the PM for the honor:

"This is a day that I will never, ever forget. It's also a day that I never saw coming. I have traveled the world and received several awards and recognitions, but nothing, nothing compares to being recognized in the soil that you grew in."

Rihanna was awarded the honor of Barbados National Hero on Tuesday, after the island nation ousted Queen Elizabeth II and declared itself an independent republic.

The pop singer was honored in her birthplace of Bridgetown, Barbados by Prime Minister Mia Mottley who referenced her 2012 song "Diamonds" during the ceremony.

"On behalf of a grateful nation, but an even prouder people, we therefore present to you the designee for national hero for Barbados, Ambassador Robyn Rihanna Fenty," Prime Minister Mia Mottley said.

"May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honor to your nation."

Queen Elizabeth II's eldest son and heir to the throne, Prince Charles (far right), attended the ceremony, as the Queen was unable to travel due to recent health issues.

He said slavery was an "appalling atrocity which forever stains our history."

Britain played a prominent role in enslaving Africans, many of whom were dropped off on the island nation on the way to North America.

On Tuesday the queen sent a congratulatory message to the country's new president, Sandra Mason (4th from right), who was sworn in at midnight.

"I first visited your beautiful country on the eve of independence in early 1966, and I am very pleased that my son is with you today," the British monarch said. She added that Barbadians had long "held a special place in my heart."

Rihanna, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has held the title of Ambassador for Culture and Youth in Barbados since 2018. The island's residents continue to celebrate February 22 as "Rihanna Day."

The 33-year-old singer is semi-retired from music and focuses on growing her billion-dollar makeup and fashion empire.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of singer Rihanna's cousin over the Christmas holiday.

Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, 21, was shot and killed while walking near his home in Saint Michael in Barbados on December 26.

According to Barbados Today, Shawayne Dashawn Williams, 23, has been charged with the killing. Williams appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, Jan. 3, and was remanded to prison. His next court hearing is scheduled for January 31.

Rihanna Tavon

Rihanna is mourning the death of her cousin who was shot and killed in Barbados over the Christmas holiday.

According to WENN.com, Tavon Alleyne, 21, was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant as he walked near his home in the parish of Saint Michael on Dec. 26.

"RIP cousin... can't believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!," the 29-year-old singer wrote on Instagram.com on Tuesday.

According to a source near and dear to Sandrarose.com, Rihanna and her bestie, Melissa Forde, fell out recently. My source says Mel, who is the no-nonsense type, abandoned Rihanna on tour last month and flew back to their native Barbados because of Rihanna's unnatural obsession over ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

But according to In Touch Weekly, the two women had a loud cat fight over Mel's rude behavior to her staff and hangers ons, including a former Bajan stripper who has tried many times to replace Mel in Rihanna's heart.

The “American Idol” winner canceled a concert scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19, in Phoenix, so she could take a break in Barbados. Fantasia is nominated for two Soul Train Awards, which will be taped Nov. 8 at the Orleans Arena, and is scheduled to air on Dec. 1, 2013 on BET Centric.
