Saweetie apologized for causing an uproar online with her controversial comments about Hermès Birkin bags, insisting they "symbolize a gift of value" in a relationship.

Last week, the "Icy Grl" rapper made blog headlines after her boyfriend, rapper Quavo gifted her with a Birkin in honor of the success of her new single "Back to the Streets."

She took to Instagram Live to tell her fans, "If he not getting you a Birkin, if he not paying for your bills, then throw that n***a back to the streets, OK?"

Saweetie immediately came under fire for her comments. Sensible women called out the 26-year-old for putting material objects above healthy relationships.

In a new interview, Saweetie said her comment shouldn't be taken seriously and that she's "an entertainer and I come to entertain."

Saweetie compared herself to rap mogul Jay Z: "So that was an entertaining comment. Like Jay Z says at the end of "Ignorant S**t," he goes, 'It's only entertainment,' and then he does this little evil laugh," Saweetie told Power 106 Los Angeles with Bryhana.

"I was having a good time, promoting 'Back to the Streets.' And, you know, I'm popping my s–t for my girls."

But she continued to insist that Birkin handbags, which retail for over $20,000, make a woman feel valued. "I feel like a Birkin symbolizes a gift of value," she said.

She continued:

"But what comes along with being valued? It comes with a healthy relationship. It comes with communication. It comes with getting gifts. It comes with being spoiled, because at the end of the day, we create life ... Women are magical creatures and we deserve to be treated like a queen. So that's what I meant by that statement."

The rapper, real name Diamonte Quiava Valentin Harper, added:

"A Birkin is symbolic. Get her a purse, get her some jewelry - of course, according to your tax bracket. I don't want you to clean out your savings to try to keep up with social media or society... It was a quick comment that represents how I feel women should be treated, which is showered with gifts, OK?"

A Las Vegas couple has been charged with defrauding Medicaid out of $13 million and laundering the money by purchasing expensive jewelry, cars, designer handbags and other luxury goods.

Timothy and Latisha Harron were charged with seven counts of defrauding the North Carolina Medicaid system, according to Insider.com.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the couple committed "massive fraud" by laundering $13 million through their purchase of expensive luxury goods, gym equipment, luxury watches, high-end vehicles and a private jet worth $900,000.

The Harrons flossed their affluent lifestyle on social media where they shared photos of Tiffany Jewelry boxes, designer clothes and handbags, and vacations to exotic locales, including Bora Bora and Cancun.

A federal grand jury indicted the couple on May 19, according to the DOJ. The Harrons, who married in 2018, were arrested Wednesday and charged with seven counts of conspiracy to commit health care fraud and wire fraud, aggravated identify theft, conspiracy to commit money laundering and making false statements related to health care matters.

The Harrons allegedly stole the money by submitting fraudulent bills to Medicaid through Agape Healthcare Systems, Inc. -- a company founded by Latisha, 44, in North Carolina in 2010.

She committed fraud by registering the company with Medicaid in NC without disclosing she had previously been convicted of identity theft.

The couple allegedly searched through obituaries to find people who had recently died in North Carolina. Using information from the obituaries, they would turn to the NC Medicaid eligibility tool to find whether the person had a Medicaid Identification Number.

Using that number, they back billed Medicaid for "fictitious services" they claimed to have provided to the person before death.

The couple flaunted their extravagant lifestyle on Instagram, showing off expensive jewelry, and posing for pictures at 5-star restaurants, luxury suites at sporting events, and on lavish vacations. Mr. Harron tagged the photos "#millionaire, #billionaire, #entrepreneur" and "millionaire lifestyle."

In one caption for a photo gallery showing off Tiffany boxes and high end shoes and bags, Harron wrote, "Sometimes it's a @tiffanyandco , @brioni_official & @louisvuitton kind of day! All delivered and didn't have to leave the #penthouse. Mrs. Harron, nothing but the best!"

When the couple was arrested, the feds seized an Aston Martin sports car and the couple's expensive wine collection.

Last year's telecast of ABC's American Music Awards hit a record all-time low in the Nielsen television ratings. If the ratings improve for tonight's AMAs telecast, ABC can thank Lizzo and her tiny Valentino purse. The purse is barely big enough to hold one Trojan condom and maybe a throat lozenge.

The morbidly obese "Truth Hurts" singer turned heads when she meandered down the red carpet wearing an orange, one-shouldered mini dress and a lacefront wig with side swept bangs. According to People magazine, she accessorized her frock with strappy white Stuart Weitzman sandals and the world's most expensive condom holder - a tiny silver Valentino purse.

"There's only three in the world," Lizzo said, as photographers zoomed in on the mini bag. When asked what she managed to pack inside the mini clutch, Lizzo responded, "I got tampons in here, a flask of tequila, condoms..."

Photos of the tiny fashion accessory went viral across all social media platforms. Social media users couldn't get enough of Lizzo's personal style.

The American Music Awards got underway at 8 p.m. Sunday. Lizzo, 31, is up for 3 awards, including best new artist, soul/R&B song of the year and soul/R&B female artist of the year. Last week, she scored 8 Grammy nominations, including record of the year and song of the year for "Truth Hurts," album of the year for Cuz I Love You and best new artist.

Hollywood liberals are outraged over President Trump's participation in a ribbon cutting ceremony for a 100,000-square-foot Louis Vuitton factory in Texas on Thursday.

Trump, his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner joined Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton LVMH chairman-CEO Bernard Arnault and other Louis Vuitton executives at the ribbon cutting ceremony in Alvarado, Texas. Trump was in Texas to hold a campaign rally.

Celebrities were beside themselves. "I wonder what [Trump] has to gain from that. Maybe Ivanka's going to get a year's worth of free bags," said actress Ellen Pompeo.

Actress Debra Messing tweeted:

"Just so you know, Trump is at a Louis Vuitton opening while 10s of 1000s of Kurds — who were forced to flee their homes — try to find a safe place to survive as refugees."

She was referring to Trump withdrawing American troops from Syria, leaving America's allies, the Kurds, to fend for themselves.

It is not unusual for a U.S. president to participate in ribbon cutting ceremonies for hospitals or government buildings. But a president participating in the opening of a high end luxury brand smacks of hypocrisy, critics say.
