When the news broke that Don Cheadle married his girlfriend after 28 years together, everyone assumed he did it for love.
Actually, he did it for money.
The well-known character actor confirmed his nuptials on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last month. He revealed to guest host Wanda Sykes that he and his longtime girlfriend, Bridgid Coulter, got married during the pandemic after 28 years together.
Fans flooded their social media timelines with compliments and praise. Many single women viewed the couple as proof that true Love will stand the test of time.
However, on Monday, the 56-year-old actor told Entertainment Tonight the real reason why he decided to finally pop the question.
"Our accountant proposed to both of us and he showed us the numbers, and we said, yeah, we should probably do it," Cheadle said at the premiere of his new film "Space Jam: A New Legacy."
"It came up a lot of time," he said about the topic of marriage. "But every time, we were like, 'But we're already together?' [The accountant said], 'Yeah, but this is a better reason to be together.'"

Cheadle and the 52-year-old actress and designer have two daughters named Ayana Tai, 2nd from right, and Imani, right.
Cheadle said the dopamine phase faded from their relationship a long time ago.
"Really, it's because our accountant proposed to us, I wish there were some big sweet romantic story, but the romance happened, you know, the first year."
Amy Schumer says her vagina is "street trash" since getting married to Chris Fischer in 2018. Schumer explained the biggest change in her life on Kevin Hart's "Comedy Gold Minds" podcast.
"It's honestly just like, huge now and just garbage. It's just street trash. Yeah, I would say my street trash p—-y is probably [the biggest change]."
Then Schumer got serious, saying her marriage also trashed her social life.
"I don't go out anymore. I mean, it's also the pandemic, but I'd be down at the Cellar every night doing standup, and now it's like, if a friend is like, 'Want to meet out at 8:00 PM?,' I'm like '8:00pm?! Sorry, I'm in ...' I mean, I'm not in bed, I stay up, you know..."

Amy Schumer, 39, and Fischer, 41, welcomed their first child, Gene Fischer, in May 2019.
There years into their marriage -- an eternity in Hollywood -- Schumer says the dopamine is fading.
"We probably have sex every seven to 10 days. We need to do that more."
She said they schedule their sex sessions now.
"I go, 'Do you want to have sex?' And he makes this face," she said. "He kind of pictured it, and like, winced. He's imagining it and he made a face kind of like he ate something bad."
Schumer said Fischer then told her, "How about tomorrow?” to which she replied, "Great. Thank you. I feel really good."

Rumors are swirling about an Atlanta reality TV couple whose open marriage arrangement was violated when the husband decided to see other women without his wife's permission.
We hear this isn't the first time he violated their open marriage agreement. He has had his share of affairs, and now the wife is fed up.
As they say: it's not an open marriage unless both spouses agree to the terms.
It's always sad for everyone involved when couples break up. So this entrepreneurial couple had an arrangement to forego a messy divorce in return for an open marriage.
Rumor has it that they both had a side piece without the other spouse's knowledge. The wife allegedly dumped her sidepiece to save her marriage. But the husband is allegedly seeing a voluptuous real estate agent who sells properties on Atlanta's Southwest side.
We hope this reality TV couple can come to terms with their open marriage arrangement before she ends up divorcing him.
