The medical examiner released the cause of death two months after the 57-year-old relationship guru suffered a cardiac arrest and died in his Atlanta apartment on May 5, 2022.

The autopsy results determined his heart failure was brought on by the prolonged effects of high blood pressure.

Blood pressure means the force of blood against the walls inside the arteries. Normal blood pressure is 120/80 and below. High blood pressure is 140/90 and above.

The pressure in the arteries is measured by 2 numbers: systolic and diastolic. The top number (systolic) means the pressure inside the arteries when the heart beats (contracts).

The bottom number (diastolic) means the pressure in the arteries between beats when the heart is at rest.

Blood pressure readings of 130/80 to 139/89 are considered stage 1 hypertension. Your doctor will prescribe blood pressure medications and/or diuretics (water pills) to bring your blood pressure down to normal.

Your doctor will also suggest lifestyle changes such as no added salt in your diet, and exercise at least 150 minutes a week.

A blood pressure reading of 180/120 is considered a hypertensive crisis because such high pressure in your arteries can cause strokes, heart disease, and death.

Symptoms of chronic (longterm) high blood pressure includes headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath, nosebleeds, weakness and fatigue.

Samuels may not have known he had high blood pressure, which is why hypertension is called the "silent killer."

Kevin Samuels grew a large following of mostly fatherless males on his YouTube channel. He was considered the leader of the so-called "manosphere" movement, a group of men who yearn for the traditional male, female gender roles.

Samuels was apparently addicted to Red Bull energy drinks, which may have been a contributing factor to his longterm high blood pressure.
