Shellie Zimmerman pleads guilty

The wife of George Zimmerman, the night watchman who shot unarmed teen Trayvon Martin, has officially filed for divorce, reports ABC News (via Mediaite.com).

Shellie was in court to support her husband every day of his murder trial in July. But George apparently abandoned her after he was acquitted by an all-female jury. Zimmerman is rumored to be cheating on his wife, with the cash that was publicly donated to the couple to cover his legal fees.

Despite pleas from the police and press for the family to explain how Zimmerman saved them, they say they are terrified to praise Zimmerman in public.

Zimmerman's attorney Mark O’Mara confirmed that the family canceled a planned news conference on Tuesday saying “They don’t want to be associated with George.”

It looks like the publicity stunt backfired.
