I think that it is a shame what happened to Darius. I don’t understand why we as a people can’t seem to act like we got good common sense or home training. I feel sorry for Darius and hope that he recuperates. My prayers go out to him and his family. What really disgusts me about this situation is that more young black men have ruined their lives over senseless violence. When will this stop?

He’s still in a coma, but friends are gathering to share memories of him and raise money for his medical care.

Thanks for the clarity! I thought you were reporting his death. You might want to change that title…

    Bird says:

Whew!!! You scared the hell out of me with that Remebering Darius Miller title. I don’t even know this man and you have me emotionally invested in his well being.

    wifey404770 says:

Exactly Bird. I’ve sent Sandra Rose an email asking her to please change the title from “Remembering Darius Miller” because that sounds as if he has passed away. Don’t worry, he is still hanging in there with us. I love Darius so much and I just want people to know that this is a Fundraiser and not a memorial. Pray for Darius. Miracles happen everyday.

    tintin says:

i don’t think the party should be promoted as such. why are you remembering darius when he’s alive.

it should have just been called a fundraiser.

My hear skipped a beat when I read the title as well. I check the site numerous time during the day hoping for updats on Darius’ condition and when I read the headline for the fundraiser my heart skipped a beat! After I composed myself and read on I realized that this is not a memorial but a fundraiser. WHEW!!!

This may sound bad, but didnt a witness say that Darius was going to get a gun. And why is it ok for the Jena 6 boy to beat people up but not the Holmes boy. Holmes didnt beat him by himself so where are the other guys. Oh I know Snitch right. Black people a mess All these people love him but the wont bring his attackers to justice. It is so strange that we talk about black reform. But we keep repeating ourself.

    luxe.li. says:

this is so freaking sad. I’ll pray for him.

I sincerely wish that Darius Miller pulls out of his coma. I went to college with Darius Miller at Fort Valley State University in the late 1980′s, and he was ALWAYS an “upstanding” man towards everyone. Darius is the kind of person EVERYONE wanted to be friends with. Darius did not deserve what happened to him. I am praying for you and your family Darius. Love, gkg88 – FVSU -

    Ja

PLEASE don’t get me started on those Jena idiots. In short hell no it was not ok that they jumped that boy.

    wifey404770 says:

    Ja:

First of all, the guy that supposedly heard Darius say he was going to get a gun was already proven to be a liar. Everyone who knows Darius knows he is far from violent and that he DOES NOT carry a gun. Don’t worry about the other guys that were involved, Holmes will start snitching pretty soon once he realizes how much trouble he’s in.

Who ever was there need to say something, thats why things like this happen. People go around attacking peolpe cause the know people are not going tp tell. Snitch shouldnt even be a word.
I hope all these people that think 30 is the new 20 grow up an get a life. I’m 25 married with kids, I went to a club to entertain clients and I swear every man in there was 35 and up with kids dresses like they 18.I guess that’s what black women like good luck

    Demetris says:

I to am a FVSU Wildcatas as well as Darius. To be beaten into a coma for coming to the defense of women is unacceptable. I am sooooooo tired of hearing the word snitch that I could go to the roof and leap!!! When and why do we as a society feel that telling the truth is being less than honorable? I don’t get it. I pray for Darius and the Wildcat family definitely has him in our prayers. That’s it. Oh yes…why doesn’t Mayor Franklin’s daughters have anything to say regarding this beat down? Were they not the ones that he was defending?

Darius will continue to be in my prayers..I pray for a wonderful turnout and that he recovers fully

    DMurray says:

I used to live in Atlanta (I now reside in Northern VA near DC) and have nothing but good things to say about Darius. He was always upbeat and positive. Once, I ran into him on South Beach and he really made my trip one to remember. My heart is heavy with emotion and hope that he makes a full recovery.
