This is not a man
For the past two weeks, headlines about a pregnant man have appeared in many mainstream media outlets. The world is already a confusing place without the mass media adding to the confusion.
Thomas Beattie was born a female. Due to her gender identity crisis, she identifies more with being a man.
Some women who struggle with gender identity are satisfied with cutting their hair, wearing men’s clothing and affecting male mannerisms. This one decided to take it a step further by taking male hormones which ceases menstruation and causes male characteristics such as excess facial hair and a deep voice in women.
Beattie also had surgery to remove her breasts but left her female reproductive organs intact. This makes her a female with no breasts.
When Beattie and her “wife” decided to have a child, Beattie stopped taking the male hormones. The only man involved in this situation that I can see is the one who donated the sperm.
Gender identity crisis is a mental disorder no matter how you look at it. Sure, it’s politically correct to refer to Beattie as a man, but the bottom line is that she is a biological female. No amount of male hormones is going to change that fact.

i’m so sick of hearing about this and the media keep referring to this woman as a MAN!!!…he/she is not a man. She was born a woman…with woman organs. So, even though she is portraying herself/himself as a man in looks in body SHE is a woman! let it go already.
And they wonder why these kids are sooooooooo f’ed up in the head. Here is one example

I didn’t understand the media frenzy either. It is a female having a baby. PERIOD! Now, when a man shows up pregnant, (a real man) THAT will be news. I agree with everyone else too about the kids. If you want to live an alternative lifestyle, knock yourself out. Why bring kids into the picture?

If you are going to go to this extreme…. man i am speechless I cant even finish my sentence. I am too thru! Thank God I am 28 with no kids and never been pregnant. When I heard and (apparently he/she will be appearing on Oprah) I thought how in the hell can a man get pregnant I knew it was a catch. The bad part about it is
all the media attention. This is nothing to be going public about. This is so disturbing to me…I wish people will be who they were born to be and not change there gender for whatever reason there mind is telling them to.

I don’t even understand why this is a story. It’s a freakin woman who dresses like a man.She still has her femal organs just no breasts so shes a freakin flat chhested woman and women get pregnant all the time, I’m over it. Next!
It saddens me to see homosexuals discriminating against one another. I’ve heard down low type brothas make disparaging remarks against flamboyant gay men and this is not the first time I have heard you critisize women who are more comfortable as men than as women. It’s like black people of differant shades discriminating against each other. While I agree this is not a pregnant man as the media has tried to spin it, I respect his decision to be what makes him feel complete. I certainly wouldn’t dismiss it as a mental disorder. Of course we are all entitled to our own opinions, but that doesn’t change the fact that our opinions may be wrong and hurtful to others.

This is a confusing mess. Well actually it’s plain as day. This woman isn’t satisfied with what God gave her so she takes life into her own hands and mutilates her flesh to become a “man”. All the hormones/surgeries in the world won’t give you the nature of a man.
ALSO, if she wanted to be a man so badly then why did she opt to carry the child in her own womb? The girlfriend could’ve done that or a surrogate mother.

Medically disproven by who? Last time I checked, GID was still included in the DSM IV as a disorder. It is not my opinion, it is a fact. Dogs don’t go around trying to be cats and vice versa.
WAIT so then this makes me think, how we define what a man is in society. If we reduce the complex make up of man and woman down to if you have hair or not, have a p3n1s or vag1n@, have breast or not then it’s all crap.

I’m just flat out tired of seeing this. Women have babies everyday all day. When a real man gets impreganted, I’m signing my husband up so he can feel what I felt and I can ask him 24 hours a day “Are you feeling ok, why CAN’T you sleep, you can’t take ANYTHING besides Tylenol, what does a contraction feel like?”

I watched Oprah feeding into this couple’s delusions and I shook my head. The reason doctors refused to treat him/her is because these types of patients require extra care psychologically and most doctors don’t want to deal with it. For instance, you can’t slip up and accidentally refer to him/her as a “she” or “her” because they are very sensitive to that and will get very upset. Doctors don’t want to feed into their delusion by calling them “men” when they are biological females.
HE is legally a male. I understand he had sexual reassignment, which means he has a penis. Although he was born female and obiviously has female organs, the law considers him male. I am getting ready to watch this story on Oprah, so I may have more to add later (LOL).

Yep, she didn’t have the surgery…the hormones caused a ‘penis like’ organ. I just really don’t get the big push to be a man, live like a man, spend the money to change to become a man, legally (on paper) become a man….only to turn around and do what God has blessed a woman to do. I truly hope she gets some counseling. I’m assuming his wife thinks she is straight now?

Whether he/she is legally a male or not, he/she is still a biological female because he/she has female reproductive organs including a vagina.
Oprah got it wrong when she said he/she had a penis. I’ve never seen a successful female-to-male genital reassignment. They always need multiple surgeries and even then the thing never gets erect. It’s all craziness to me.

Okay, I am watching Oprah and for the life of me I cannot understand why he is legally considered male. He has an oversized **** with no “balls” (LOL). from all of the sound bites, I believed he had his VJ “removed/closed” and a penis installed. This really strange. These are two gay women pretending to be man and wife. The “wife’s” family did not know the “husband” was born female. OH BROTHER This is strange. Did I already say that (LOL).
yeah, she said that she kept her female reproductive system in tact. But what I wanna know is does that mean that her breasts will grow back now that she’s pregnant and is no longer taking male hormones. I mean where is the milk gonna go?
I find it interesting the daughters knew Thomas is a born female. I read someone earlier this week the “wife’s” family did not know she married a born female. I understood the two had lived as roommates, but noone knew they were a couple. Tracey later became Thomas and you know the rest.
I may be wrong, but I think once breasts are removed they don’t usually grow back. When cancer patients have their breast removed, sometimes they will be given a removal breast.
After hearing that 3rd Graders were going to kill their teacher nothing surprises me anymore.
Seriously, If you want to be a man don’t have kids. Non of us ask to be in this world and we have to make the best of it, but to purposely give your kid a hard life its wrong.
