Rihanna set to make her big screen debut
According to AOL Black Voices blog, Rihanna is set to make her big screen acting debut in ‘Mama Black Widow’. She will star alongside a stellar cast which includes Mos Def, Macy Gray, Anthony Anderson and Kerry Washington.
Mama Black Widow is the story of a black Mississippi family’s journey from the segregated south to the supposedly more open-minded Chicago in the 1930s.
The story follows Otis Tilson’s struggle to keep his family together as they navigate through the big city strife of Chicago. Otis Tilson will be played Brian J. White (”Stomp The Yard’) - and Rihanna will play Carol, Tilson’s sister.

her accent is part of her cultural identity, her heritage and she doesnt have to loose a damn thing just so she can “fit“ or “conform“

Calm down dude, it really is not that serious…the point of the comment is…if you read the backdrop of the film it is based on a southern family…so it would be hard to sound southern with a caribbean accent…sounds like to me you got some personal issues of your own, and you using this to rant…damn chill out…

Sandra can i PLEASE PLEASE push the red button!(ugh) anyway, she would need to focus on her accent, but it won’t be hard..with the right coaching she should be ok..there are tons of actors with foreign accents that you wouldn’t even realize where from another country by the role they played…prime example of a foreigner using a southern accent is Carmen Ejogo who played Coretta Scott King in Boycott..she also played in Lackawanna Blues..you’d never know she was from the UK

lmao so true.Now Lil Wayne is supposed 2 be in the fast and furious.I died a lil inside on that one.I love him as a rapper but acting not so much.
She might need to get a a speaking coach, But hopefuly it will be a good movie.
–Hugh Laurie(sp?), the guy who plays on “House” is also British.
–Chiwetel Ejiofor, who played Victor Sweet in “Four Brothers” and Huey Lewis in “American Gansgter” is British too.
–Thandie Newton is British but I see her slip back into her accent sometimes. Still, she does a good job.
It can be done, that’s why I said she needs RiRi needs a voice coach.
First thing…it can be done. We’ve never seen RiRi acting so she might be a good actress. Only time will tell. We gave Beyonce a chance and she failed miserably in that department.
Secondly, she looks so cute in that pic.
Thirdly, accents have never hindered careers and the ability to change it. Angelina Jolie has played a Brit. Colin Farrell is scottish and has played an american. Look at Monster’s Ball…Charlize Theron is SOUTH AFRICAN…and you can’t tell in the movie. And the list goes on and on and on. So maybe she’ll surprise us. Again, only time will tell. but I hope she kills it.

Beyonce failed miserably at being an actress? GTFOH If playing legendary Etta James and every movie you are in is a success, is failing miserably then most actresses need to try it. This is why Beyonce is on top. Her name comes up on stuff that dont even involve her. Out of all the singers turned actresses, Beyonce is the first one people think of. It’s official Beyonce stays winning while her haters stay losing.
As for Forehead Fenty we already know she cant sing or dance and she was horrible in that cheerleading movie so nobody is going to see this movie because of her.
