Why is there a line outside the NY Apple store?

Endgadget.com reports that a line 60-deep has formed outside the NYC flagship Apple store today. Was there a cool new gadget released that I didn’t hear about? No, apparently these dummies have been standing on line for hours to be the first to purchase an iPhone.

Yes, I know we’ve been through this madness already. But this is a new 3G iPhone. Whatever that means.

I am proud to say I never succumbed to peer pressure to buy an overpriced iPhone because I am in complete control of my mental faculties and common sense.

All these cell phones are crap!! I have the Blackberry curve and it is like a dam computer. When it messes up you have to rebooted and dam near reprogram the thing. I bet an Iphone is probably worst!!

wow sandra! you got me… I have a NOKIA N82. I’d only buy an iphone if I didn’t have to switch networks. All the network phones I’ve had always mess up so I obtain my phones from South Africa. The variety is great and the phones aren’t locked to any network.

well these people are standing in line for no reason because the 3g iphone doesnt come out until june it hasnt even been officially announced yet but thats expected on june 9th so the point of the engadget article was why are these people standing in line because the new iphone doesnt come out for a least a month so its no reason there should be a line for the first version of the iphone. which i have and still love better than any other phone i ever had and cant wait until the new iphone comes out so i can get that one

I hear you Eastpointvet…I tossed my blackberry for the first iphone and I am upgrading at the end of the year to the next one, its my phone, my email, my ipod, my mapquest, my photo album, my note keeper, my banker, my remote tivo, mygps, and so much more!!!
