CJ and Dime Peace Entertainment threw a grand opening bash for their night (every Thursday) at the new Candy Shop lounge. Yes, there’s lots of exotic eye candy in all manner of undress there. But constant visits to this candy shop won’t mean a trip to the dentist. If you can’t read between the lines, it’s a place where your man goes to be “entertained” for ten dolla.
Celebrities and Veeps in the house included Jermaine Dupri, Allen Iverson, J-Lac (Usher’s bruh), Jerry Clark (Island Def Jam VP), and others who wished to remain anonymous. They say AI threw obscene amounts of cash in the club - and it was all real!

I’m not mad at Sandra for the post. She just showing one side of the reality. I’m very proud to be an Atlanta native(Crawford Long). it’s a fact that Atlanta strip clubs are some of the best in the country. the reason: the girls let the men do more. you’d get your head busted in Vegas if you touched a stripper, but not in the ATL. Decatur is a nice place. Downtown Decatur in particular, but like in most cities; you don’t have to travel far to find sleeze. If Atl was so bad, all these non-driving tranplants wouldn’t move here.

I am feeling everything you have said so far. I am orignally from BKLYN BIGG UP!! But when I moved down here all I heard about was big bootys, light skinned woman were more pretty and sex, sex, sex!! I totally feel what you are saying but please list the things to do and places to see in the ATL except the Aquarium, Fox theater, CNN Center, & the mall.

Any city’s image could be deemed “simple” if you don’t look to find worldly aspects and in Atlanta - you don’t have to look that hard. You just have to want to.

well everybody thinks that ATL is the place to be for black people anyway. i live in VA and i remember hearing black people always talkin bout “i wanna move to atlanta cuz you can do so much stuff there.” now i dont hear that many people sayin that anymore but when i do, i tell them to remember that every black person in america cannot live in atl, every black person that goes to atl will not be rich and famous like you see on tv. atl seems to be overrated so you’re probably better off staying right where you are if you’re not from there.
lol @ Dizz - that is SO true! Atlanta is treated like the Southern capital.
@ goat76 I’m just listing things within the city limits that typically does not involve food. You could spend a lifetime eating here and still not visit every restaurant there is. This is considered the country so a lot of things to do actually are not in the city, but in the suburbs.

There’s plenty else depending on the season and most of these places hold special events regularly. I’m no tour guide, but I’m busy having fun most weeknights and weekends at places other than strip clubs, restaurants or movie theatres.

@ dizz…I understand how you came up with that name….I know what I like and don’t like about the ATL so why should I start my own blog “THAT REFLECTS THE IMAGE OF ATLANTA YOU’D LIKE TO SEE THEN.” I think you are telling that to the wrong persons…..I ain’t complaining about what sandrarose posted on her blog site………I just stated for the people who thought the ATL was all about strip clubs and hoes, sex and expecting Sandrarose.com to show them what ATL is all about or any other websites(get a life people)…blogging helps the work day go by….you would hardly see me on the web after work hours or on the weekend…

Atlanta was and in some folk’s cases, still the promise land. Black Enterprise 2007 Survey reflects ATL as the number one city to live for “BLACKS”. Atlanta was on that list in 2001 as well.
The results were basied on locations, metropolitan areas-the core cities,surrounding suburbs as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. The survery reflects people being satisfied due to earnings potential, entrepreneurial opportunities, jobs, cost of living, affordable housing, higher education, access to technology, and medical care. Did you know that if you are in LA making 60K, that a person living in Atl making 39K can have the same life style? Did you no that CLARK was one of the top schools for communication majors? NOT to mention the diversity ATL reflects, not to mention that things that stimulate “US” culturely are immediately available and not a once a year or leap year gig. So to address all the back and forth, especially for those who don’t LIVE in the “A”… if your reflection/opinion of ATLANTA is limited to what you see on TV, the HIP HOP images, and varies post, you should check your resources or venture out to explore other resources.

Is that not what a blog is for…to express yourself just like you did? Not my fault you got all sensitive about your city, shoot change your name to Ralph Tresvant with all that sensitive ish. All I was saying was instead of telling people top get a life for commenting on the image this city has, give them some options like the list posted. Did you see anyone disagree with how atlanta is perceived, no you didn’t. Atlanta is known for clubs, stripping, and partying, it is what it is.
