Yesterday, there was a little controversy surrounding Kanye West and whether he updates his own blog (he doesn’t). To highlight this fact, I wrote a post about Marcustroy.com, a young brother out of Canada who offers his ghost blogging services to other blogs.

Someone in Ye’s camp sent ‘Ye a text message alerting him to my post and ‘Ye responded by posting photos on his blog “revealing that he can lean over a computer, focus his eyes in the direction of the screen and gently touch the keyboard,” as Prohiphop.com so brilliantly put it.

But what I found more interesting than who updates Kanye’s blog is the fact that Prohiphop.com and others have accused Team Kanye of regularly jacking content and graphics from other blogs without crediting the source or linking back. With all that traffic Kanye’s blog gets, one would think they wouldn’t mind sharing the wealth. But that’s typical of Kanye to be selfish and unoriginal.

We’re all in this blogging thing together as urban blogging is still pretty new. So linking back is considered a courtesy as well as a shout out to other bloggers for a job well done. But apparently Team Kanye doesn’t agree since they routinely rip and jack content from smaller blogs without linking back or giving shouts. So Team Kanye gets the middle finger for Blog jackin’.

But Prohiphop.com said it best:

“If you guys like that stuff so much why don’t you credit the folks that turned you on to it?

Lame-ass jackers.”
