Mr T’s Snickers Ads pulled by Mars

Lovable “A-Team” actor Mr. T gained worldwide fame in the 80s for his Mohawk, his catch phrases including “I pity the fool!”, and for his excessive gold jewelry. Last year, Mr T starred in his own reality TV series. But Mr T’s newest project is catching flack from gay rights advocates.

According to UTalkMarketing.com, Mars has pulled its latest global campaign for Snickers featuring Mr T after complaints that the ads are homophobic.

In the “Speed Walker” commercial, Mr T is in a military 4×4 firing Snickers at a speed walker. “You’re a disgrace to the man race. It’s time to teach you to run like a real man!,” says Mr T.

As the man speeds off, Mr T shouts threateningly, “Do it again sucker and there’s going to be trouble with a capital Mr T.” The ad closes with the line, “Snickers. Get some nuts.”

It’s worthwhile to note that even though the ads are viewed worldwide, only the gay rights groups in America (who whine about every damn thing) are complaining.

In a statement, Mars said, “…we understand that humor is highly subjective, and it is never our intention to cause offense. Accordingly, we have pulled the Mr T Speedwalker ad globally.” (Source)
