Usain Bolt Shatters His Own Record in 100M; Jamaican Women Sweep 100M Finals in ‘08 Olympics
Only two days after Jamaica celebrated the 46th anniversary of its independence from Great Britain, Jamaican athletes proved their supremacy in the 100 meter finals at the Olympics in Beijing. Usain Bolt, 21, shattered his own record in the 100 meters by coasting to the finish line with a stunning 10 meter lead! He could have crawled to the finish line on his hands and knees and still won!
On the ladies side, Shelly-Ann Fraser, Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart swept the 100M Finals for the first time in Jamaican history. Fraser took the gold in a blazing 10.78 seconds. My mom is from Jamaica so she’s very proud.

I was really surprised to hear that the jamaican ladies have never won gold. They have been in the mix with the greats for as long as I can remember. As for Usain I’ve already taken some heat for expressing my thoughts that something is fishy with him. I see a doping charge in his future.

I seen the womens race…the 21 year old girl that won gold for Jamaica was so happy just ah jumping and screaming…people doubted her because she was inexperienced but she proved them wrong with her first race….she dust they azz
I love this sport so freakin much…. I missed these races when they aired but I caught them on the internet… I still get goosebumps
@ Bird, as much as I love USA, Jamaicans are usually clean athletes. I doubt very seriously that he’ll come up positive. Not to mention how often he’s tested…. I believe that he’s clean

man I was too busy looking at the Trinidadian that one the silver and laying on the ground. He was really happy. congrats to everyone who one a metal especially Usain “Lightening” bolt he really had them eating his dust.
so disappointing. so very very disappointing. im no fan of asafa, bolt, or any of the other jamaican sprinters.
What I do know is I’m getting sick of watching beach volleyball. They are showing that more than track & field. I don’t know if its because the US doesn’t have any strong sprinters or because they are trying to take the focus off T&F because of all the dopping in the past. Either way, NBC needs to show more track, not just the finals all the heats as well. I want to think Bolt is clean, but do I…No. He just hasn’t been or may never get caught.
See told ya. People been reeming me all over the place. hehehe. I just found it very odd that he shut down and started decelerating with a quarter of the race left. It made me feel like he didn’t want to do so much that is was unbelievable. Everyone knows that the various sports agencies can’t keep up with the chemists who create performance enhancing drugs. With all these cheating athletes I guess I just don’t trust any of them anymore. They have really tainted sports for me. Buttholes.

Thank you! I’m missing big races because they are showing them at crazy times. It’s really getting on my nerves. Since when is volleyball a big thing. Not to mention all these damn Michael Phelps interviews. The even seem to be getting on his nerves at this point.

Yes they have always dominated the track and field. I remember back in the day when they seemed almost super human. Hmmmmm I wonder why that was????????????????? *smirk* The rest of the world knew what was going on, but officials feared the US so kept their mouths shut.
Anyway well done to my Jamaicans! I’m proud of you!
Jamaica just has better sprinters than the U.S now as far as the men are concerned… the Jamaican women have been alot closer to the U.S. sprinters than people give them credit for and NOW their talent pool is much deeper-n-talented than the U.S. female sprinters are Right Now!!!
Get use to THESE Women dominating the sprints for the next several years (At Least) ;-)
