The family of the Iraqi man known around the world as the “shoe man” are accusing his captors of abuse.
Muntazer al-Zaidi is the man seen on video hurling his size 10 shoes at George Bush’s head during Bush’s final farewell tour of Iraq over the weekend.
“He has got a broken arm and ribs, and cuts to his eye and arm,” said his brother, Durgham al-Zaidi. “He is being held by forces under the command of Muwafaq al-Rubaie [Iraq’s national security adviser].”
Thousands of Iraqi protesters took to the streets of Baghdad for a second day yesterday demanding al-Zaidi’s release. Thousands more marched in Mosul, Iraq’s third largest city, north of Baghdad, carrying banners proclaiming al-Zaidi a hero.
In Baghdad, the head of the Iraqi Union of Journalists described Mr al-Zaidi’s action as “strange and unprofessional” but urged Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to give him clemency.
“Even if he has committed a mistake, the Government and the judiciary are broad-minded and we hope they consider his release because he has a family and he is still young,” Mouyyad al-Lami said. “We hope this case ends before going to court.” (LINK)

HE SHOULDA THOUGHT ABOUT THAT BEFORE HE THREW HIS SMELLY SHOE…….
Well, there you have it!We don’t need to be there.Even they know that.
boy did i want that shoe to make contact with his big ass head!! they need to let that man go.they already beat him up!!
Hey…you run the risk of that happening. It’s called collateral damage. Sorry
Just be Thankful that you ain’t DEAD……
They need to let this man go.
Everybody needs to throw a shoe at Bush.
They should keep him locked up for having bad aim…
That video was hillarious. I was so surprised that Bush actually ducked. He’s so dumb I thought he would’ve gotten hit twice. LOL! Priceless
Amulet Says:
They need to let this man go.
Everybody needs to throw a shoe at Bush.
**********************
I agree w/ Amulet they should let this man go…
THIS IS WHY OTHER COUNTRIES DONT LIKE US. THEY NEED TO LET HIM GO HE THREW A SHOE NOT A BOMB. THAT COUNTRY IS DESTROYED BECAUSE OF BUSH AND HIS HENCH MEN. THE LEAST CAN
THE LEAST HE CAN DO ( BUSH) IS LET THE MAN GO SINCE THE COUNTRY IS A HOT MESS. WORSE THAN WHEN SADAM WAS THERE
@ goat … I totally agree - but @ the same time - he had to know that once he threw the shoe some ISH like that would happen to him, on the VIDEO you heard him screaming and whatnot. I guess now he is thinking it wasn’t worth it.
LET HIM GO!!!!!!!!!! so what he threw a shoe oh well it wasnt a gernade or knife
I’m sorry y’all. As much as I don’t care for Bush. He is still my President, and I am not for people F-ing with my President outside my country. Now, with that said - if somebody would have thrown the shoes at him here in the States - I would have thought that to be funny.
@ 14
Toi, I’m in total agreement. The video was funny as hell and I’m not a bush fan but he’s still our President.
This goes back to the old hood belief that i can talk about my dysfunctional family but don’t want other people to fuk with them.
If this goes unpunished, it sets the stage that you can bully/tease the US and we won’t do shyt about it. If a darn journalist can get away with it, image what the more cruel, angry, no conscious fools will feel like they can get away with.
If you bad enough to come at the US of A, you need to be bad enough to get your dayum arm and ribs broken.
Don’t let his azz go. This incident was seen around the world and people need to know we aren’t PUNKS.
We used to be respected and anyone who challenge any of our leaders need to be dealt with.
I say let him go, because we don’t really even know what Bush is doing over there because we aren’t over there.
@ 17… Keep him and kick his azz. If you challenge a US official with a shoe or a feather duster, you need to be dealt with.
The US citizens does not treat other foreign dignitaries that way, nor would it be acceptable for us to. People will go as far as you let them and it he gets away with it, people in the other countries that we visit will think he can do the same thing.
Just because you don’t like someone doesn’t mean that you can attack them. If you don’t believe me, go throw a shoe at your boss.
^^ and see what happens.
Better yet, go throw some shoes at the police and see what happens.
Mississippi, you are right.
i repsonded to your picture statement on the celeb post. I’m with you on that.
He should have thought about that a$$ whoopin before he threw the shoe. Think what you want about the leader of any nation, but please believe that you deserve and will surely get a severe beat down at the very least if you attempt to assault one of them. I for one don’t appreciate people disrespecting my president with physical abuse regardless of who he is.
