Los Angles Rams linebacker Jared Verse is being criticized for laughing at a reporter’s voice. The former Florida State standout was speaking to a reporter named Ruba Wilson when Jared joked that he could beat any other Rams player.

“Do you think you could take him?” Ruba asked Jared, who responded “I’m beating everybody on the Rams.”

Ruba looked into the camera and said, “We love a confident daddy.”

Jared was caught off guard by Ruba’s statement. He laughed and said, “What the fck just happened, bro?”

Now the LGBTQ+ community is offended that Jared laughed at Ruba’s statement rather than being flattered. They say he lacked sensitivity by laughing at Ruba’s voice.

However, Florida State’s team blog Chop Chat took Jared’s side. The blogger called the interview unprofessional and said social media influencers should not be considered reporters.

Chop Chat wrote:

“We must stop allowing so-called reporters into spaces and allowing them to just say whatever they want. It’s how we got to this point in the first place. Jared Verse doesn’t owe anyone an apology and probably should be more selective about who he allows to do interviews with him in the future.”

The writer continued:

“The fact that Verse allowed Wilson to interview him in the first place should tell you all you need to know. He could have just declined and kept it moving, but wanted to give Wilson the opportunity.”
