Morning Glory: Meet Aaliyah 2.0
The worldwide search for an actress to play the role of the late and legendary Aaliyah is over.
Her name is Keshia Chante and I guess it helps that she slightly resembles Aaliyah and she’s a so so R&B singer.
She’s not drop dead gorgeous like Aaliyah was though.
Aaliyah was truly a one-of-a-kind superstar and can never be replaced. Keshia will play Aaliyah in a movie about the singer’s life, career and untimely death. The movie is slated for release in 2009. (Source)

uhm… while this keisha chic is a pretty girl… she is CLEARLY NOT Aaliyah… oh no no no no no… the search needs to continue. I am a die hard Aaliyah fan and i know its gonna be hard to try and play the role of her…. uhm… disappointment… yes thats exactly what is just sitting in my mind right now… i cant even comment right now… and whats this about a so so R&B singer??? what the hell does that have to do with anything… i swear i best not waste my money on this (because i am gonna see it) i just hope they search a little harder…and Aaliyah was not that damn light! who 6thought to cast her anyways?!! did Aaliyah’s family have any say in this matter?!

Yes, Keisha Chante is Canadian, she’s from Toronto, she’s a decent celebrity up in Canada, she put out 3 albums already. She’s a pop singer, her voice is aight.
She does look like Aaliyah…I don’t know about her acting skills though…and she doesn’t have that same Aaliyah mystery either…but I’m sure she’ll do fine.
And to Coco…Cici looks NOTHING like Aaliyah. She just dances like her, does not favor her at all!!

I’m confused, but why are they doing a story on Aaliyah, besides her dying young and tragic, what did she do that was news worthy? She was not uuber talented in the singing or dancing arena, and she certainly was not the innocent little girl everyone tries to portray her as, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been married to a grown man at 15. Also, she dated Jay, discreetly before she dated Dame- a lot of people don’t know that, and her fans defend and deny, but there are photos of her on the net all boo’ed up with him.
Oh well, I guess the object of the game is to give the fans what they want. Looks like yall gonna get it
