Aubrey O’Day Blasts ‘Negative’ Bloggers
Aubrey O’Day, formerly of Danity Kane, took time out of her busy schedule to blast bloggers for being too negative.
She tells MTV.com:
“I think that we have become obsessed with Internet blogging. And I think that there is so much negativity out there, and it’s doing no one any good. It’s not doing the people that sit there and think of the nasty thoughts and spend the 10 to 20 hours of their day typing them up (any good).
“It’s not doing the people that read them any good (either), because it’s just consistently putting negativity in the air. It’s not really doing anyone any good, and, you know, we are all so addicted to it. And maybe sit back and ask yourself why.” (LINK)
I totally agree. Negative bloggers are popular because there is so much negativity in the world and people are drawn to bloggers hating on others as a means of temporary escape from reality.
But constant negativity is not healthy for us. It’s the reason why I try to infuse a little humor into my posts and hope that people don’t take what I write so seriously.

Aubrey was a bit extra at the end and I use to like her but she was working my last nerve on reserve when it was all said and done. I wish her the best though.

I agree. People do need to stop taking things so seriously when blogging….all that internet thuggism threats don’t mean anything..Aint like you know who everyone is to go to they place to do something. I’ve seen some internet balls growing a lot lately…hiding behind the computer talking trash..
I have seen so many artists and struggling artists reading ****, SR.com, Allhiphop rumors, byron crawford, etc on their laptops/iphones etc, it’s amazing. They love the insta-coverage, but they cringe at some of the comments.
Net, net, they’d be crused if you stopped reporting/remarking on them. Especially C- listers like Aubrey.
When you are in the limelight, it is expected that people are going to talk about you, good or bad. I’m sure it’s tough….

I definately agree with her and even posted a blog on my MySpace page about the hateful blogs that I myself read daily. It can’t possibly be good for the soul. A couple of years ago I had to decide to try to keep it light. No attacking people just for fun. If I have a serious opinion about a person or topic that just happens to be negative, that is one thing, but to tear people down just for the hell of it, naw. I try to avoid that. I also try to avoid cyber fights by any means necessary. I respond to hate with love in an attempt to difuse the situation before it gets out of hand.
Even on this very blog I have watched people transform. They aren’t as nice as they used to be. The show me that daily hate does effect people’s behavior.
Anyway, no bad words for Aubrey here. She is 100% right as far as I’m concerned.

The internet has gotten serious. When I was in high school, me and my friends would go on chats and wild out.
But now it seems that people take this seriously like their life is on the line… It’s serious on here! I do think it’s silly we fight on blogs. I tell my sister, and she barely listens to me talking about this, LOL LOL LOL Our convo goes straight into real world life, not a BLOG.
I told my sister they posted my picture and she laughed so hard. Sometimes I can’t even believe it gets that serious.

I am working from home again it is 30 below with the windchill. Diva nad weatherman are good. Weatherman is watching the real weather man right now. He is so focused it is funny. Diva has vowed not to go outside at all today. I told her she could get her some Pastries today and she told me to order them online and pick them up for her lol.
I can see her having frustration but when you CHOOSE to become a celeb and thrust yourself in front of the public, then expect the public to voice their opinions of you. Negative or positive stories about you comes with the territory of being a celeb. Nobody forced/is forcing you to be a celeb, if you can’t handle the heat, then get the hell out the kitchen!!!
I wonder if she got only praises from bloggers would this be an issue for her? Right or wrong, the way she carries herself in interviews and in public, makes her an easy target for negativity.

yes the simmons girl shoes. She only shops at limited too, hollister, and american eagle. She is a mess at 11. She has also requested a pair of Nike vandals. I told her to get a job and she said didn’t my daddy send his check if not I need to make a phone call. I just laughed at her.

@shunda … SOunds like my daughter at 14 she loves juicy couture.. she told me the other day that everyone at her school carries a juicy bag for their books and clothes for basketball practice and she wanted one too so I told her okay how much is it? When she told me I told her didn’t you just get 2 juicy purses her ungrateful butt said they are too small for school. I paid 165 for one of them and 195 for the other. I can’t be mad because I created this mess now I am trying to clean it up

I had an additional thought. I think it’s one thing to talk negatively about someone who is positive and doing good things. I don’t think it’s negative to call bullsh*t. And that’s what some of these celebs are: Aubrey, Rihanna, Beyonce, (c)rappers, reality stars, et al. Celebrity isn’t what it used to be. You have a bunch of folks who don’t deserve to be celebs who are. I think the population is tired of the BS.

i understand @sandra, but she needs to consider some of the retarded crap she puts out here, to even get people going. Like WTF kind of pictures/publicity photos…?
There may be endless negativity on the part of the bloggers; but there’s endless indecency (her image) on her part.
besides, the negativity is used by celebs in promoting themselves. they canbenefit when someone posts half-truths, or flat out lies – don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. that’s why celebs have good PR people.
