If America’s first half white president, Barack Obama is looking stiffer than usual to you, it’s because he’s made out of wax. Not literally, Obama’s wax figure was unveiled at Madame Tussauds on January 15, 2009 in my birthplace, London, England.
Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard and his wife Bernadette Rob attended the Los Angeles premiere of “The Lodger” at the Westwood Crest Theater last night. Wasn’t she married to one of the Jackson 5 brothers at one time? I see Leonard’s fitness routine has provided good results for him. The beer gut is gone.
The old school was in the house to celebrate the memoirs of music director Rickey Minor at the Huntley hotel yesterday in Santa Monica, California. Singer Eric Benet, musical director Rickey Minor and singer Brenda Russell attended the Private Book Release party.
Music legends Stevie and Jermaine Jackson also attended the book release party.
Songwriter Siedah Garrett (“Man in the Mirror”) and Stevie Wonder also attended the book release party.
Actress Victoria Rowell congratulated Minor on his new book.
The lovely Pam Grier was a guest on Showtime’s 2009 Winter TCA yesterday in Universal City, California. Pam stars on Showtime’s lesbun soap opera “L Word”.

When did Sugar Ray have a gut? I know I don’t see him daily, but I am a pretty serious Contender fan and I have never seen him looking anything less than fabulous.

Sugar Ray is married to Lynn Swan’s (#88 retired Pittsburgh Steeler’s)ex wife. You’re right Bird, he has never, ever, ever had a gut.
BTW – Contender use to be my show the first two seasons, what happened? Sylvester Stallone nor Sugar are not longer on.
Oh Bird, one more thing – this morning on the tom joyner morning show – they were thanking Tameka Raymond for not joining the cast of Housewives of ATL and for saving Usher’s career by not participating. I almost choked.
I remember most of these folks from the 80′s Ms. Garrett included I thought they all looked old (I know we’re talking about over 20 years) but Pam she has some bomb ass genes.
I agree with Byrd that Obama figure was terrible. That doesn’t even look like him to me.

It is horrible. I have seen wax figures that look identical to the celeb, can’t believe they would want to show this off. I would have made them redo it.
Siedah Garrett, wasnt she in one of MJ’s videos, and was that her and Dennis Edwards on that song…… cant remember the name, but something like de yo cumma de you my kumbay um by ya (oh my love my love) dont look any further.
The name of that song was “Don’t Look Any Further”. Use to clean the house to that song when I was a youngin.

I just read that Tameka will not be joining the show and I was pretty disappointed until I remembered I don’t watch the show anyway. Had she joined I would have tuned in with popcorn every week. Actually being married to a man with money must have disqualified her. I ain’t trying to watch all those women pretend they have money when in fact they are actually nothing more than Flavor of Love Girls.
As for Contender I don’t mind Sugar Ray and Sly not being there. I watch it for the boxers anyway. Hoping to see the next big thing on the show.
