R.I.P. Natasha Richardson

Natasha Richardson has died according to her publicist. She was 45.
This is a very sad story. Noted actress Natasha Richardson was taken off life support in a NY hospital today days after suffering a traumatic head injury from a fall on a ski slope in Canada.
They say Richardson, who was married to actor Liam Neeson, stood up after her spill and walked around under her own power. But what she and medics who tended to her didn’t know was that ruptured blood vessels in her head were slowly leaking blood into her brain.
About an hour after her accident, Richardson began complaining of an intense headache. She was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced brain dead. Richardson was flown by private air ambulance service from Canada to NY so her family and friends could pay their last respects.

How sad.
I am beyond sad about this. I loved Natasha in ‘Maid in Manhattan’.
I pray for her two little boys who are probably crushed.
Wow. My prayers go out for her and her family. Life is really so fragile, I know I tend to take it for granted that I’ll be here everyday, but hearing stories like these remind me of my own mortality.
I’d been following this story and kept praying for a happy ending….tragic.
It’s probably best. Just started studying the heart last night, so I’m clueless about brain bleeds, however, I undertand that life support does not help anyones situation, ever.
This is beyond tragic. I am a snowboarder and want my son to learn as young as three… it is not easy and can be dangerous. Helmets are VERY necessary. I believe she was not wearing one. So sad…
This is very sad. She was definitely a talented actress. I loved her in Maid in Manhattan too..
I don’t know who this woman is before this morning I hadn’t heard of her… nevertheless this brings tears to my eyes. Such a tragic story..

Frightening. I work at a hospital in the call center for scheduling. this man just called this morning to schedule his 9 year old daughter for a head MRI becasue she just had a skiing accident week ago. He said he saw this story and was TERRIFIEDDDDD
This is a sad story. Coping with death is always harder when it’s unexpected.
I searched her on IMDB and I noticed that besides Maid in Manhattan I hadn’t really seen or heard of anything else she was in. She’s done a lot of stuff though.
Okay I took another look. I do remember her. Her mother is actress Vanessa Redgrave and I recently saw them in a movie together called Evening. I enjoyed gave it 4 netflix stars.
This is just sooooo sad. My prayers continue to go out to her family and friends.
This is really sad. I feel like I know this woman- my daughter watches Disney’s Parent Trap almost everday.
This is truly sad becase she was in one of me and my kids favorite movies Parent Trap as Lindsay Lohan’s mother (love that movie). I think she was more artsy because she was mostly on Broadway.
Her sister (which I didn’t know until yesterday) is Joely Richardson who plays Julia on Nip/Tuck. I’m a Nip/Tuck STAN.
I was truly praying for the best for her. So sad.

I didn’t have a clue who she was until my mom came into my office yesterday and told me. My mom’s favorite movie is “The Parent Trap.” When she first came to live with me she played that DVD damn near every weekend. I got so tired of hearing little Lindsay Lohan’s voice. My mom doesn’t know a lot about celebrities but she knows who Natasha and Lindsay Lohan are.
I was hoping that all of the reports were wrong and that she would pull through but its official she has died. All of the death and destruction recently has really just got me to thinking about my own mortality as of late, you have to live each day like it’s your last with no regrets.
My heart truly goes out to her family but most importantly her children who will never get to smell, touch, kiss, hug, or talk to their mother again….
Rest in peace sis.

Liam Neeson is a fave of mine. I just watched taken last week and Schindlers List is one of my all time favorites. He’s an excellent actor and I’m devastated for him. They’ve been married 15 yrs which is forever in Hollywood standards. My heart goes out tohimand their two sons. This is so tragic.

Not only is Natasha one of my favorite actresses…she comes from an family of acting GIANTS!!! Her mother, Vanessa Redgrave has always been someone I always kept track of, not only because of her remarkable acting skills…but also because of her fearless intelligence and political stance…which is unpopular to most…but which she has always stood by…
I remember first seeing Natasha back in 86′ (telling on myself) in one of my favorite movies…”Gothic”…I went to see it to see my boy Julian Sands (sorry, got a thing for Brit actors)…and I didn’t even know who Natasha was…but I knew who was her Mama, because she was the splitting image…and she did her Mama proud when it came to her skills as an actor…
I also loved the way that Natasha stepped away from the limelight after she married Liam Neeson and focused primarily on being a wife and mother…
And I was looking forward to her and her Mama starring together on the stage later this year…
This is so tragic…Liam FINALLY makes a movie that is a unqualified box office hit “Taken” and this happens in the middle of all of that joy…

You know what… and Im not trying to be funny at all…but I think I saw an episode of Grey’s Anatomy with a teenager who experienced the same thing. 2 sisters got in an accident, and they both appeared to be fine in the emergency room, infact they were arguing at each other about what they’re parents were going to do about the damage they did to the car. The younger sister had like a broke leg I think and the oldest sister had a head injury. During the shouting match the younger sister yelled “I hope you die!” A few seconds later a doctor noticed that the oldest sisters eyes were getting dark rings around them. He asked other doctors how long had she been looking like that, and no one could answer. They rushed her back to the O-R I guess. Long story short, the oldest sister died from the same thing as this actress, I believe. I was blown away by the episode. Sandra you should do a medical minute on this.
Krysi I saw that episode.. The little girl felt so bad cause that was the last thing she said to her big sister. I love Grey’s!!

Krysi I saw that episode of Greys. It was truly sad. That sister was so hurt, I cried like a baby during that episode.
