I’m not surprised that most Obamaholics had no problem with Messiah Obama spending $240,000 of their hard-earned tax dollars for a “date” with his wife Michelle Obama in NYC.
How many of you catch a flight to another state to go on a date for one night? This probably wouldn’t be an issue if Obama himself hadn’t said just last week, “We are out of money now.” So the U.S. is out of money but Obama is just going to keep right on spending recklessly regardless?
Yesterday, the media questioned White House press secretary Robert Gibbs’ about the outrageous abuse of public funds by the Obamas.
One of the reporters in the room asked a great question which, of course, Gibbs couldn’t answer: “Is there any precedence for a president and First Lady to take an out-of-town date night like this, not connected to an official or even a political… event.”
Anyways, here’s what Barack and Michelle spent the $240,000 on:
Three private jets, two helicopter rides, extra planes for security and closing roads for motorcade. [link]

@Coa yes he does but ALL Presidents spend our tax dollars on vac, air force one,security etc this is nothing new. Even the resident Rep. Elizabeth on the View said she didnt know what the big deal was. Bush spent 1/3 of his Presidency on vac so again this is NOTHING new. The President said he would have taken a shuttle or train but they would not allow him.

I don’t see anything wrong with the Obama’s having date night, he paid for the tickets to the play and dinner and everybody knows he can’t fly commerical.

On the old Sandrarose.com — the one that was a static site — I complained constantly about George Bush waging a war against Iraq so his buddy Cheney and their cronies could steal the oil. This was years ago when the war first started. You probably didn’t notice because Bush wasn’t half black.

This is the first I’ve heard of the bill being $240k. I actually watched both the Today and Early Show this morning and they came in with estimates of $54k and $58k for the trip.
I could care less how much it costs, are they supposed to stay in and not have a date night? They are still a young couple who likes to get out and the POTUS needs security. Sooooo $240k or $58 costed me what….nothing in my taxes. Hell if a third of people in NY gave a penny that would’ve covered the trip. Keep having your date nights Obamas.

Think about this: one private jet (a small one) costs $28,000 for one flight. That price includes the pilots, crew and the jet fuel — and that’s one small jet.
Obama needed Three private jets, two helicopter rides, extra planes for security and closing roads for motorcade just to go on a date in New York! That is gross misuse of taxpayer’s funds. He could have went on a date in DC and saved the taxpayer’s money!

ALL Presidents SPEND money point blank period. Name one who doesnt/hasnt? Yeah thats what I thought. My tax dollars have always gone towards things, places, people I did NOT agree with and there aint a dayum thing I can do about it.

Sorry, I don’t read or respond to every comment on here because I am busy writing posts. I don’t recall seeing that comment or I would have addressed it and corrected them. Most people don’t remember my Bush posts because it wasn’t important to them. At any rate, I hope you’re not calling me a liar?

Until I see something on my check that shows a deduction for Presidential Outings, I’m not going to trip on this. Anytime ANY president goes somewhere - say a dusty ranch in Texas - security, jet fuel, etc… is spent. And there are roads that are closed off permanently, unless you are a resident, of the exclusive community that Bush calls home here in Dallas.
Money is spent on presidents. Now, when I see him doing this EVERY week or something, I’ll be concerned. Until then - NEXT!

You can’t go take a trip to Las Vegas, or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers’ dime.” But it’s OK for him to go to NY for dinner and a show for $240,000??
