FanMAIL: Nick Cannon

In my earlier post I pointed out the fact that TV personality and mega-millionaire Nick Cannon disrespected a sister based on her African features rather than her actions.

Nick Cannon is more fortunate than most celebs in that he is an A-list celebrity while the others can only hope to be. The reason Beyonce (who reads all the blogs) doesn’t respond to the hate is because she’s above all that. So is Jay Z and other A-list artists who have reached the pinnacle of their careers and feel no need to respond.

Once you reach a certain level of success you don’t go backwards. Nick Cannon is supposed to be above this sort of pettiness. If it were Bow Wow or Trey Song, I could understand since they are nobodies. Would he attack Perez Hilton in this manner?

As I’ve said before, that picture of Natasha is not ugly nor unattractive. This leads me to believe that Nick Cannon dissed this woman simply because she doesn’t have the Anglo-Saxon features that he and other pompous, simple minded, self-hating black men like him and Eddie Murphy prefer to showcase as a source of pride. That is an insult to me and any black woman who has ever supported his career.

I just wanted to let u know that this is one of the first times that I can say I agree with you. Some guys seem to have a preference and in return they down the women who don’t meet their preference. It is one thing to not be attracted to a certain type but to disrespect or talk bad about them is not cool. Nick’s comments were uncalled for and just show his immaturity. Thanks for posting his foolishness it really opened my eyes of what is out there in this crazy world!

Nick has NEVER been corny to me. He’s been a regular positive AA young man. I never get the corny part but I guess since he hasn’t popped anyone, been shot, had booty girl videos, been arrested, etc. he’s corny.

I have one but I did not use my Anna name can I update it? I don’t remember my pass word either. I only got one to see what the hype was about. I logged on a few times and the last tweet from anyone was 2 hrs ago. I found it boring but I will give it another try later.

And I find Nick corny because he tries to hard to sell his jokes to much for me..He was like this from when he was on “All That” and he doesn’t have to be a duche to be funny to me…But i understand that everyone has a different sense of humor and he does have some funny moments but most of the times he doesn’t do it for me.

i think nick does some corny things i dont see him as being corny as per say a terrance j. i respect his business acumen 100% though he was a teenager executive producing shows and he pretty much has an executive role in anything u see him in and thats saying a lot in this day in age

I guess we all may have different views of what corny is. This one will be an agree to disagree for me.

CB isn’t corny IMO but Terrance J….BAYBEEE YES, he’s corny IMO. That’s because he tries too hard to be cool and he’s SO not. Nick is flat out goofy to me and doesn’t seem to try to be cool he is who he is, that’s why I don’t give him the cornball title.

On another note…Christina’s legs were the first thing I noticed in the pic…and not for good reason. I was thinking something isn’t quite right with those birds. Like they don’t go with her body or something…lol Glad it isn’t just me.

My definitions:
Corny = Trying to be funny ala comedian BUT never comes close to the same impact… But actually thinks “Hey That’s Funny”

Goofy = Silly to borderline Foolish with a little comedic rhythum BUT not quite the timing that’s required to being funny… Nonetheless cracking up hysterically to effect the actual impact of the humor

@ E and this is why I said this will be a “we’ll agree to disagree” post on this subject because as you can see there are several opinions on what corny is/isn’t. I’m not looking for the exact definition on what it is but I also don’t think that one persons version is right and the other is wrong.

Corny like I said is someone trying to be cool, relevant, in the know, etc but is SO not.

A goofy is someone who is a clown, who’s a bit of a class clown type fool and doesn’t care what others think about him.

That may not be your view or others on here but it’s mine. Doesn’t make mine right and yours wrong or vice versa.

I agree that Nick isn’t haha funny. Loved him on Wildin Out though. I mean his Nick kids funny not Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy RAW funny.
