Statement From Tiger Woods
Golf superstar Tiger Woods posted a statement on his website today disputing wild rumors that he is a victim of domestic abuse.
Woods was involved in a one-car accident in the driveway of his mansion on Friday. He sustained facial lacerations and bruises that TMZ.com claimed were inflicted by his wife Elin Nordegren-Woods after the two argued about his rumored infidelity with an industry trollop.
Meanwhile, Woods canceled a 3rd scheduled meeting with FHP officers who sought to interview Woods and his wife about the accident.
As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore.
This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.
This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.
The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.
This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.
This statement can be taken one of two ways: Either Tiger is admitting to having a substance abuse problem that led to his car accident (addiction to pain killers maybe?) or he really is telling the truth and Elin didn’t go upside his head with one of his own golf clubs.

TMZ gets on my damn nerves. They always jump into people’s business and leak private info (MJ’s death, Rihanna’s battered face, etc).

there has got to be more to this story. if it was simply an accident, why won’t he meet with the police? you releasing statements but you can’t talk to the police to clear it all up?
I believe he was trying to get away from the wife as she was coming for his a** over his supposed cheating.
tmz will get the the story, they always have someone willing to spill it for some dollars. he probably figures that he f he does talk to police that is what will happen, someone will leak the info.

in reading between the lines…when tiger says he will make sure this doesn’t happen again, it’s not that he wont cheat again, he’ll just make sure he’s more careful to not let wifey find out.
i’m actually detached from this story and haven’t read how she found out, or if that’s just speculation. probably some trailor trash michael jordan hooked him up with.

UhUh Auntie,,,Aint no substance abuse problem,,,It is much more to this story that is being hidden,,,if he’s telling the truth and there is nothing to hide then why hasn’t he talked to the authorities??? Plain and simple somebody is covering up something but it’s okay everything comes to light eventually and once we find out that Elin did indeed bust him upside his head wit that golf club I want every blogger and media outlet to GO IN on her just like they did Chris Brown. Sometimes “no comment” or opting not to issue a press release is the best option. Tiger’s statement seems like an attempt to protect his wife and to get on her good side. After reading the statement all I processed was: “This is a private matter between me, my wife and my jumpoff and I will not be releasing any details.”
I don’t why everyone is so concerned with “HIS” business. So what if his wife did whoop his a$s, he probably deserved it. It was a minor car accident. Leave it at that. Actually Tiger’s statement doesn’t clear up anything. He didn’t say what rumors were false and he didn’t say why it was his fault? Was it his fault because he felt he had the beatdown coming or was it his fault because he was high? Oh yeah and where was he going at 2:30 AM? His statement is PR and nothing more. Still I like how he is handling this and if I were him I wouldn’t talk to the police. It will blow over waaaaay sooner than other situations where law enforcement was involved.
