RIP: Chris Henry
Chris Henry, the talented but troubled Cincinnati Bengals player who was arrested 5 times in 14 months, has died of head inuries suffered when he tumbled out of the back of a pickup truck in Cincinatti in what police are calling a domestic dispute between the wide receiver and his fiancee.
Henry died at 6:36 a.m. this morning after fighting for his life for 24 hours. He was 26.
Away from the team because of a broken forearm, Henry was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after being found on a residential road.
Police say a dispute began at a home about a half-mile away, and Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancee was driving away from the residence.
Police said at some point when she was driving, Henry “came out of the back of the vehicle.”

Why is that a lot of people seem to die around Christmas time. Is there a curse on the world around that time? Anyway I feel sorry that he had to die at the hands of someone he loved. So sad. May God be with his family!

I read her myspace page Mrs C. Henry and she talks about staying strapped because folks try to try her. She says she loved her man and was into her family. So sad!!!

I was wondering the same thing this a.m. when I was thinking about Charlie Murphy’s wife. What a sad time!!
Maybe she was running from him? If they were having a fight she must have been trying to avoid further conflict by driving off. Him jumping in the truck instigated further conflict… could have been afraid for her life/safety.

Whatever happened, its a tragedy.

I lost my Grandfather around Christmas one year, and we buried him on Christmas Eve. I will never forget it. It’s realy sad that we see a increase in death around what is suppose to be a joyous time of year.

If they do press charges, I wonder if she knew he was in the truck bed but deliberately drove crazy to shake him off. Granted, if it is true that he jumped in the back then he shouldve considered safety first, but obviously if he fell off due to head trauma and died, then she is partially responsible.

This is sad. I have no words right now.
I won’t wrap myself around this story and the details of what did or did not happen. Loss is loss – at the end of the day this is a father, someone’s son, brother,cousin etc.

Sorry for your loss. I would hate to lose anyone at anytime but not during this time of the year. I can’t imagine. We are supposed to celebrate Christmas and New Year but now this family and many more are mourning death. Such a sad story.

I feel the say way about how the media tries to brake down our black men. They did the same thing to Michael Jackson when he die. Whatever this people have done in their life God will be the judge of that. But they should at least show the families some respect. I agree. I was just reading a report on him but thank goodness they highlighted that he had started to change and spend more time with her and the children.
The Bengals gave him another chance and he changed. And this happened. So sad

Did anyone hear about the owner and founder, “Butch” of “This is It” bbq restaurants? His 16 year old daughter was killed in a tragic car accident earlier this week. So sad.

I feel for his children and his fiancee, they will have a had time getting over the manner of his death and the suddenness of it.
Last night the police said they weren’t charging Loileni Tonga (sp) with anything, but now that he actually died, I wonder if they’ll take the same stance.
I thought I read that she won’t be charged. Also there are reports that say the name of the driver wasn’t released and then in the same article release the name of his finacee. What is that about?
I heard homicide is investigating, which tells me that she may be charged…….dayuuum
