On Friday rapper Lil Wayne was freed from the Rikers Island Correctional facility in NY where he served 8 months on weapons possession charges.
After a brief reunion with his baby mama Antonia “Toya” Carter, label reps and artists, he flew to Arizona to meet with his probation officer.
Lil Wayne was sentenced to 3 years unsupervised probation stemming from a 2008 drug charge in Yuma, AZ. He must also serve 360 hours of community service in Miami where he currently lives.
He is required to submit to regular drug and alcohol testing and his lips can’t touch alcohol (or weed) for 3 years. But according to pics posted on Twitter.com, Weezy has already broken the no alcohol rule.
On Friday Weezy, real name Dwayne Carter, hopped a private jet southward to his native New Orleans where he sat courtside to watch his Hornets defeat LeBron James and the Miami Heat 96-93. Supposedly, Weezy fan Chris Paul gave him free courtside seats worth over $10,000.
Weezy wore a red Cincinatti baseball cap to show his allegiance to the Blood gang that he is affiliated with. Before he was incarcerated, Lil Wayne often wore something red as a sign of gang affiliation.
Cortez Bryant, Wayne’s manager, (seated above right) said Wayne wanted to come home to New Orleans where he is originally from. “It’s home for us,” Bryant told the Times-Picayune. “We’ve got family here, good food here. He wanted to come back home.”
