Rihanna Blasts Blogs and Her Fans Who Read Them
Scroll down for update…
Have you seen what Rihanna said about the blogs and our readers who support her and buy her music?
Why do I think she’s referring to just the urban blogs? I’m speechless. She could have at least qualified her statement by saying “Some blogs”.
Why is she so bitter? Should I ban any further Rihanna posts for this blasphemy?
I read the blogs sometimes, it depends on what it is I am trying to find out. I’m a lot more numb to it now only because I understand what it is.
It’s a community for people who don’t have anything else to do and hate themselves… They hate their life, they hate their job, they hate their appearance, they are uncomfortable with who they are. So what makes them feel good is talking smack about other people who they think they will never ever see in their life and they happen to be celebrities.
It seems impossible to ever have the opportunity to say these things to their face, so they get to hide behind their computer and type.

Update:
Thanks to loyal reader Ogi for sending this video of the actual interview. Ogi said Rihanna’s words were twisted by another blog. But the text stays true to what she actually said.
Celebs Out & About: Janet Jackson, Nelly, Tyrese Gibson, chris brown, Dr. Dre

Janet Jackson and her boyfriend, fiance or whatever, turned up at busy Hollywood hotspot, Katsuya restaurant on Monday night.
When they left the restuarant, her man looked so drunk that Janet had to practically hold him up. I doubt that’s what really happened, but that’s how it looked. Janet appears to be wearing the same pair of Alaia suede ankle boots that Rihanna was seen wearing in NYC this week. The boots retail for $1,710. Photos of Janet by PacificCoastNews.com

A rare peek into Def Jam’s offices (LA is not going to like this)

As you know, Island Def Jam Records is home to such superstar music acts as Rihanna, Mariah Carey and the recently signed Jennifer Lopez. The record label, which falls under the Universal Music Group umbrella, is run by veteran record honcho LA Reid.
Here is a peek into what goes on inside the Def Jam offices while Reid is away, presumably promoting his artists. The video was leaked online by Def Jam staffer Jycorri “SPitty” Robinson.
The background music is Jeremih’s “Down On Me” Featuring 50 Cent & Keenan Cahill. This is the version that you saw on a recent episode of “Chelsea Lately”. Supposedly, Jeremih, 50 Cent and Keenan Cahil are shooting an official video together.
New Music: Nicki Minaj featuring Drake – Moment 4 Life

“Moment 4 Life” is the latest single off Nicki Minaj’s album Pink Friday, due out on Monday. Nicki pushed the release date up because she feared the album wouldn’t sell if she waited until Friday (it still won’t sell).
The single features her label mate Drake whose fluid delivery couldn’t save it. The hook is kinda catchy, but as usual, Nicki’s singing ruins the track. I guess Young Money Records couldn’t find a real singer to record the hook?
GQ magazine chose Drake as one of their 5 Men of the Year. Congrats to him.

Do we really need a coffee table book deconstructing the words of Jay-Z?
Rapper-turned-author Jay-Z and his artist Rihanna were guests on ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ today. The rapper, real name Shawn Carter, was there to promote his new book ‘Decoded’ which was released today (Nov. 16), while Rihanna was promoting her 5th studio CD, LOUD, which dropped Friday.
Decoded is Jay Z’s ongoing attempt to make himself appear less threatening and more appealing to people who don’t ordinarily listen to his music.
Decoded is part bio, part essay on rap and Hip Hop as a cultural art form. Never mind that Hip Hop ceased being an art form 20 years ago, unless you count senseless violence against women, self-hatred and accumulation of material possessions as art.
“Do we really need a coffee table book deconstructing the words of Jay-Z?,” asks The Guardian.
The writer explains that rappers who pen a book explaining their slang for the benefit of people who couldn’t care less about rap culture “undermines not just their own vivid verses, but also the obstinate, insular appeal of the culture as a whole.”
In his book, Jay Z compares himself to historical figures and he attempts to elevate rappers as deep thinkers and modern day poets, which is laughable when you really think about it.
As The Guardian writer so eloquently stated: “[Real poets] didn’t have to release books breaking down their metaphors and rhyme schemes to earn legitimacy. Why should rappers?”
He added: “While books analysing hip-hop are to be welcomed… rappers should let their lyrics spit for themselves.”

Is Prince WIlliam wrong to give Kate Princess Diana’s ring?

Today, Prince Williams and his fiancée Kate Middleton made their first official appearance together since announcing their engagement.
When he popped the question, Prince William gave Kate the same engagement ring that his father, Prince Charles, gave to his deceased mother, Princess Diana.
The ring is now a family heirloom and is the most precious piece in the royal family’s collection of jewels. Prince Charles paid $65,000 for it when he married Princess Diana in 1981.
Jewelry expert Michael O’Connor tells UsMagazine.com the same style ring today would be valued at about $150,000.
“It is very special to me,” William told the press at St. James’ Palace today. “It was my way to make sure my mother did not miss out on today and the excitement that we are going to spend the rest of our lives together.
The timing is right now, we are both very, very happy.”
This is not the same storybook romance that occurred between Princess Diana and Prince Charles. William and Kate’s 8-year relationship hasn’t exactly been Camelot. The couple split up at least half a dozen times over the last 8 years.
It seems like a foolish choice to give an unpredictable woman a precious piece of jewelry that holds such historic significance. Especially since it once belonged to his dearly departed mother.
What if Kate decides to break up with him again and refuses to give back the ring? Then what?
