Last night while you were asleep, singers Ciara, 25, and Rihanna, 23, engaged in a war of tweets on the enormously popular Twitter.com social networking website. Everyone got in on the action, including gossip blogger Perez Hilton and singer Monica, who was attending the LA Clippers vs. LA Lakers basketball game with her family at the time.

Ciara got the party started by metaphorically snatching Rihanna’s wig off on national television. Ci Ci, who was a guest on E! Online’s “Fashion Police”, was critiquing red carpet fashion disasters with comedian Joan Rivers. After Joan ripped apart Rihanna’s outfit that she wore to the 2011 Brit Awards, Ci Ci recalled how she bumped into Rihanna at a recent party.

“She wasn’t the nicest,” said Ciara. “It’s crazy because I’ve always loved and respected what she’s done with fashion. And I’ve ran into her before. But this time it was just really… it wasn’t the… most pleasant run-in, so…”

Before she could complete her sentence, Rivers shouted “A BITCH!,” as the audience laughed.

Rihanna, who never strays far from Twitter because she always has to know what everyone’s saying about her, took to her Twitter page and tweeted:

@Rihanna: “My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme”

To which Ciara responded with a veiled threat:

@Ciara: “Trust me Rhianna u dont want to see me on or off the stage”

Rihanna quickly followed up with these tweets:

@Rihanna: “U gangsta huh? Haaa”

@Rihanna: “Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of”

At that point, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and singer Monica took Rihanna and Ciara’s sides respectively, with Mo tweeting for Ciara to call her ASAP.

After Rihanna apologized, Perez urged Ciara to accept Rihanna’s apology, “Or stay petty and less successful.”

Both Ciara and Joan Rivers echoed the sentiments of many industry insiders who say Rihanna is not nice.

The truth is, Rihanna is spiraling out of control and even Rihanna’s record label doesn’t know what to do with her these days.

I was told by a source that a meeting was called by the higher ups at Def Jam’s offices, including Chairman and CEO LA Reid. The subject of the meeting was regaining control of the damaged public image of their temperamental artist. At issue were the rampant rumors of Rihanna’s self-harming behaviors, including random sex with male and female groupies.

The meeting ended with everyone in the room concluding that there was nothing they could do to rescue her public image since Rihanna would only end up trashing it again — as she did last night on Twitter.

Recently I told you that a Def Jam exec reached out to Sandrarose.com with an offer to join Rihanna on tour for a behind-the-scenes exclusive from a blogger’s perspective. But I politely declined.

I declined the offer due to all the horror stories that I’d heard about Rihanna’s terrible attitude and how she mistreats the people close to her.

After I declined to go out on the road with Rihanna, an unnamed Def Jam exec offers to fly me to LA just for the weekend to surprise Rihanna since she loves Sandrarose.com so much.

In this clip I politely decline an offer from the Def Jam exec to go out on the road with Rihanna.

Ironically, Rihanna now finds herself in the same predicament that Ciara was in years ago when she destroyed her public image while riding high off her “Goodies” fame. At the time, industry insiders said some of the same things about her that they are now saying about Rihanna’s attitude.

But insiders now say that Ciara has humbled herself considerably and her career is now on the rebound as a result. Maybe Ciara can give Rihanna some tips on how to humble herself as Ci Ci passes her on the way back to the top.
