Newspaper Disses the Grammy Awards 2012 Nominations

A British newspaper published a scathing article on the 2012 Grammy Awards, calling the show the worst representation of the best music of the year.
The writer was particularly brutal in her opinion of last night’s duet performance by rapper Ludacris and country musician Jason Aldean.
Other than sadism, there can be no other explanation for the sonic boom of hell that was a live duet featuring that master of subtlety, Ludacris – a singer perhaps best known for a song that features the Shakespearean chorus of “Get back, motherfucker, you don’t know me like that” – and Jason Aldean, an extraordinary young man whose life ambition appears to be to marry the two genres of rap and country music. Source

But she also reserved some venom for cartoon rapper Nicki Minaj, whom she referred to as “a zombie reading an autocue that was written by robots …” She added Nicki “… served as a double confirmation that just because a woman might dress crazy, she isn’t necessarily all that interesting.” Ouch!
Kanye West, who received the most nominations for 7 Grammy’s, didn’t even show up at last night’s Grammy warm up event. The writer pointed out that Kanye might have snubbed the event because his album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, “was not nominated for Best Album, despite most music critics lavishing so much praise on it one might have thought it was the cure for cancer.”
But it’s probably more likely that Kanye knows he is being set up for failure.

Nikki is DUMB surely she is tired of self
I know plenty of artists who are deserving of nominations but never get nominated for them.
The fact that Nicki Minaj is around here getting nominated and winning is my point alone. If that’s the case my 2 1/2 year old should be nominated he makes funny faces and says crazy stuff all day.

Mines too!!
when the legends stop showing up, so should you. the music industry is like elementary school recess gone amuck. I dont watch any of these shows. I’ll catch the highlights on youtube or something. I remember growing up man we couldn’t wait to see the heavyhitters. Like the rest of the world, it’s all going to hell in a hand basket. oh yeah, via amtrak.

Nope not me… I said Michaela Conlin
she’s an actress from the show Bones.
Can someone explain to me the difference between “record” of the year and “song” of the year. Please.
going by the nominations, ceelo’s going to have a good night. well, he SHOULD have a good night. I’ve seen and heard so much of recent years, payola is so rampant in all facets of entertainment. why else did the no name chick, which we still can’t name, won for best new artist. no one ever heard of her, but she won. like really.
the purpose of award shows is what again? Really besides adele and a few other worthy talents like Kelly price the grammys is just like the monkey awards that is mtv and EBT awards are crap.
Jill, lalah Hath, Eric roberson and others can’t name off the top of my head needs grammys but they not getting them sometimes real music doesn’t need an award.
yea, what it dew SR!

Record of the year goes to the artist
Song of the year of the year goes to the songwriter

Oh ok thats who it was … my apologies
LL shouldn’t show up either. i think of him as a legend with paid dues also. Ludacris is so wack, so he should be there with the rest of the rumper room gang.

Her name is Esperanza Spalding and she’s an amazing musician, singer, songwriter and producer. Jazz artists are often times overlooked by the mainstream, so that explains why she isn’t a household. She has alot more talent than her pop contemporaries combined.
Adele is soooo gonna sweep this show….
Watch them fool around and give Nicki Minaj one
yeah music has definately fallin from its peek…
Esperanza is also a Professor! BOOM!
