Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union Cover Essence Magazine

Black Hollywood’s favorite couple Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union grace the cover of February 2012 issue of ESSENCE magazine. The NBA star met the sultry actress while he was still married to, Siohvaughn Funches. Gabby caught a lot of flack from NBA groupies and others who objected to her home wrecking. But the reality of the situation was that the love was gone in Funches and Wade’s marriage by the time Gabby worked her feminine wiles on him.

On the subject of marriage, Wade said:

We’re not rushing it. Both of us have been married before, and we understand that if we choose to marry again, we want it to be right. We both took failing at marriage hard. The next time it’s gotta be forever…” — Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade’s 8 year marriage to his high school sweetheart Siohvaughn came to an end in 2010 and Gabrielle Union was married for 5 years to Jacksonville Jaguars running back, Chris Howard. Their marriage ended in April of 2006.

My best friend was married, her and the hubby knew it was over but had just bought this house and were both financially starpped so they lived in separate bedrooms and etc. The put the house on the market but still had to pay the mortgage until they sold it so they still lived in the same house but he was seein someone else and she was and once they sold the house she got with dude and now they’ve been happily married for 7yrs. i believe some people just actually grow apart and know that it’s time to end it. An ended relationship doesn’t have to mean they there was arguing and fighting and having to find themselves. It could just be that, the end of a relationship. I don’t think you have to take time to be by yourself unless you actually feel like you need to. As long as it’s a mutual decision. Essense, Ebony and Jet are the first and oldest magazines for the black community. Back in the 70’s, the covers of Essense and Ebony showed black love and family. It wouldn’t be anything to see a picture of a black man on the cover with his queen and their child; I understand we are in a new day and age when homewreckers are profiled on the cover of their magazine. That isn’t a story of ‘black love’ and I really am offended by it. D-Wad and Gabby maybe should have been on the cover of Source Magazine or Right On, but NOT Jet/Ebony/Essence. Slowly but surely, these magazines are becoming rags that will profile anybody; yeah I said it!!

I’m just offended that some of us act like we don’t have standards anymore. It seems that whatever is being done this week or whatever attitude is being taken by the majority is ‘ok’. This is all strictly my opinion.

If that ever happened I can’t walk around sticking up my Ceily fingers at them, I can only believe love will find me again and even greater. It would hurt like hell but I know the man I married and if he left, it would be because HE choose to do so. No matter the woman and circumstances, men will do what they want. Just as women will do what they want. If I left my hubby today, it doesn’t matter the circumstances regarding me leaving. I can say, he made me leave but the truth is I made me leave. The whole waiting on a couples demise, because of it’s foundation is so old news. Couples who start of of shady shaky grounds DO win in this world. It is just a reality, plain and simple. They get together and they BOTH make an effort to make it work, and Most of those relationships are working. So you will grow old waiting on Karma to get folks! I have learned and lived long enough to know, sometimes it just isn’t so! I wish no ill feelings on anyone, it’s not worth it. When you do that this Karma that folks wait on is at YOUR front door!
