Singer Usher Raymond is so distraught over his ex-stepson Kile Glover's critical injury that he has pulled out as a presenter at tonight’s ESPY awards, the NY Post is reporting. Kile is the son of Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, and local businessman Ryan Glover.
Kile, 11, was critically injured when he was hit by a speeding Jet Ski during an outing on Lake Lanier last weekend. Kile, and a 15-year-old female companion who was also injured, were airlifted to Egleston Children's hospital in Atlanta Friday.
Gossip website TMZ.com, citing unnamed sources, reported that doctors declared Kile brain dead on Sunday.
The Glover family released a statement to CNN on Tuesday asking for prayers and privacy. Usher was scheduled to appear on the sports awards show which airs at 9 p.m. on ESPN. Rob Riggle is hosting the 20th anniversary ESPYs celebration at the Nokia Theatre in LA.
