Odell Beckham Jr. enjoyed a date night with his mom Heather Van Norman, aka Ma Dukes. The NFL wide receiver took his mom to a Drake concert this week. She was dressed for the outing in a see-through top that sparked criticism on Instagram.
One follower wrote: “My mom has Alzheimer’s and I would not leave the house with her if she was dressed like that.”
Odell recently split from mom-of-4 Kim Kardashian after dating six months.
Heather was a student at Louisiana State University when she found out she was pregnant with her son, according to CBS Sports.
His father, Odell Sr., was a football player for LSU at the time. Odell Sr. and Heather split up and she was a single mom raising a boy on her own. Odell attended classes with his mom at LSU.
“I’m a mama’s boy,” he said in the 2018 docu-series I Am More: OBJ. “My mom worked very, very hard to be able to provide everything for me. [She] put me in the best situation and made sure that I was always taken care of, made sure that I was loved.”
Odell Jr added, “There’s nothing that brings me more joy than to see my mom smile… I just wanna make my momma proud.”
Growing up without a father affected Odell Jr. He developed close relationships with men who became father figures.
If you recall, Odell and Drake lived together in California for a year.
Odell is currently dating actress Teyana Taylor. The two were seen enjoying a date night in West Hollywood earlier this month.
Odell, 31, and Kim, 43, attended Vanity Fair’s Oscars after-party together. But they split a few days later when Odell went to a fashion event with Teyana.
