Twitter came for writer/producer Shonda Rhimes’ fleshy neck yesterday.
Twitter users blasted Rhimes for inserting over-the-top sex scenes between gay men in her hit TV program How to Get Away With Murder, starring Viola Davis.
Rhimes, 44, once said she inserts gay characters into her hit TV shows because she has many gay and lesbian friends. But TV viewers say Rhimes goes too far with her honest portrayals of gay men engaging in rampant sexual promiscuity and lack of morals.
Connor Walsh (played by Jack Falahee) has a boyfriend. But that doesn’t stop him from dropping his drawers for every good looking man he wants to use for his benefit.
Rhimes brings the random sexual hookups out of the gay bath houses and public parks and into our living rooms. She thinks that by putting a handsome face on gay promiscuity that she can make sexually immoral behavior socially acceptable.
“SHONDA CAN WE CHILL WITH THE GAY SEX SCENES PLEASE,” tweeted one Twitter user last night. Another tweeted: “#HTGAWM has to many gay sex scenes. Lets get back to the plot please.”
