Lil Wayne

Rap mogul Lil Wayne can’t catch a break. The 33-year-old New Orleans native appears in an Apartments.com ad that will air during the Super Bowl.

Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., appears alongside character actor Jeff Goldblum (‘Jurassic Park’) and a man dressed up as George Washington.

The trio watch the Super Bowl together in an upscale apartment while the theme from The ‘Jeffersons’, “Movin’ On Up”, plays in the background.

Black Twitter took issue with Carter appearing alongside Washington, who once owned slaves.

But Carter’s camp sees nothing wrong with the ad. They say the ad is “meant to be funny and silly and not the least bit offensive.”

Besides, the ad pays good money and Carter needs all the money he can get right now.

Sheriff’s deputies raided Carter’s Miami mansion in November and seized his $30 million collection of art to enforce a $2 million judgment against him.

Carter sparked controversy in 2013 when he released a remix track that including a vulgar reference to civil rights icon Emmett Till

Till is a 14-year-old Chicago boy who was murdered by racists in Mississippi in 1955.
