Tamera Mowry-Housley reads the blogs. We know this because it’s rare that she allows her infant daughter, Ariah, to be photographed.

According to gossipmongers, Tamera’s husband, Fox News correspondent Adam Housley, took issue with people who questioned his daughter’s paternity because she is darker than her brother, Aiden.

This led to speculation that Ariah’s father was black. As you know, Housley is Caucasian and Tamera is biracial.

So, in order to silence the gossipmongers, Tamera’s co-host on ‘The Real’, Loni Love, posted this Instagram image of herself holding baby Ariah.

But the photo appears to be altered or Photoshopped to make Ariah’s skin much lighter than her hands. Or maybe she’s wearing light makeup?

At any rate, the photo did nothing to quiet the speculation and rumors on social media.

This serves as a cautionary tale to other celebrities to keep your children off social media.

My daughter came out looking damn FULL Asian despite the fact my husband is half Asian but can pass as black. This saddens me. I had a hard time growing up thinking I wasn’t good enough, even though people around me always told me how pretty I was, smart ect. The reason being is because my fathers family .. well his mother didn’t except me. My grandmother was really light and so was my dad. He has sandy brown hair as well. My mother was really dark with very fine hair. I came out smack dab in the middle color wise. My fathers mother would not claim me for nothing, and called my mother all kinds of black cows. My father even went as far as getting a blood test to prove I was his to stop his mothers antics. Still she never acknowledged me, even though I am my fathers only child (may he RIP), and look JUST like her only darker. I remember when I was 16 I saw her and said hi grandma, and she totally ignored me. Like I was a stranger not talking to her. It hurt, and for years no matter how pretty people told me I was I would always tell them I was just average.

All of my children are different colors, people always ask is my daughter Puerto Rican (she is partially), but they ask is my son Ethiopian, and I have had people of different races speak to me in their language. Actually he did kind of take her side. He only came around every blue moon to see me, but kept me away from them. Not sure if he did it to protect me or not. I see it as a blessing in disguise. They spelled my name wrong in his obituary, and I found out he passed after 8 years of looking for him. When I finally met some of them, I realized that I was better off not knowing them. It is her loss. She is in a home now and I want so much to go see her, but my uncle told me no. He said I will remind her of my dad, and she hasn’t been right since he passed. Her memory doesn’t go past that day. I had a lawyer assigned to her so that they can make sure the home is doing right by her.

May I give you a small piece of advice, based on my personal experience with close relatives and friends?

If my advise does not apply – discard.

If, and only if, it is in your heart to go see your Grandma, then go see her. Its obvious you have a heart, don’t fight it or you will end up regretting it. No, you don’t know them – yes your thankful you were not 100% relevant in their life, but something draws you to them.

Whether, I want to forgive or forget the person(s) who hurt me, I will give them opportunity to ask for forgiveness, whether its verbal or a gesture or act of kindness. Allow her to ask for your forgiveness…and if she doesn’t you will have a definitive answer of what to do. Obviously her son was her heart, maybe seeing you will make all the difference.

I completely understand what you went through as far as your dad’s family not accepting you. My mother and I are light skinned, my dad is not. Apparently his family believes that my father is “some white man” and even though I have always tried to reach out to them and establish a relationship over the years, they would always show me their asses.

I would catch the bus to go and visit his mother in the hospital on her deathbed on a regular basis and try to talk to her, she would just stare at me and strike up conversations with thin air. She would actually hold conversations with everyone else. That woman nor the rest of the family has ever accepted me. I reached a point 5 yrs ago to cut those toxic and messy ppl out of my life and no longer acknowledge them as anything to me; I feel no void in my life.

I’m a lighter hued black women and my husband is brown skinned. Our son was born damn near translucent and stayed very light for a while before browning up a bit. People need to stop with the rumors.

For your info,there are plenty of reasons that I felt the way I did. Don’t try to judge off a couple of paragraphs. I love my mother and her tone. One thing I also didn’t share was that my mother wouldn’t allow me to be around anyone that told me I was pretty. She used to say it was because she didn’t want me growing up conceited. Because this post is about color, I shared that portion. As a child nothing is your fault. I am a grown woman who been came to terms with it. My son is darker than me and my daughters are lighter. I said that in another post on this same thread. I love all of our shades. Like I said in this post, it saddens me. Not it hurts me or makes me cry. So scurry along. Nothing is a child’s fault in being treated a certain way because of color. Also read further down where I said my father hardly came around. He got a blood test to prove I was his, but he still chose his mother over his child. When she wouldn’t stop her antics he disappeared. After I turned 4 I saw my dad maybe 5 – 6 times over the span of 14 years. I want to see my grandmother because I want to know the truth and make peace for myself. I don’t care about how she feels. I have questions about my heritage that only she can answer. If she rejects it then I’ll wipe my hands clean. This will be the first and maybe the last time I speak with her. (I have never spoken to her, everything I went off was my mothers account) Your opinion will not change what is in my heart to do. By the way I am nothing like her. Good Day!!!

I’m dark. My daughter is high yelluh and her son is chocolate brown with a skin tone that is still slightly uneven. Good grief! This child is a growing baby. Let her be comfortable in her skin! SHEESH!!
