foster kids

While perusing Instagram I spotted this post about Tiff the Barber‘s generosity. Tiff works out of Derek J‘s J Spot Studios hair salon in midtown Atlanta. She provided free haircuts to a few foster kids so they could take in a high school game.

Tiff is one of the few rare female barbers in Atlanta. She also cuts hair on the sets of movies and TV shows.

It came as a surprise that foster kids in Georgia needed free haircuts. The state is supposed to take care of their needs. But this is Georgia, where everything is done backwards.

Follow Tiff on Instagram.com at @tiffthebarber or visit her at the J Spot salon.

Cutting their hairs was a nice gesture. Too bad their unfit parents aren’t as considerate of their needs.

Always good to see when someone does a genuinely good deed!!

    “These foster kids”…..

  • Glenda Johnson

Yeah, cringed a bit, I know it’s meant in good spirit, but no need to provide labels all the time. The barber looks like she Helps kids in need period so she’s amazing in my eyes and I hope she continues this worthy cause.

  • Glenda Johnson

They’re FOSTER; parents failed them long before a haircut, but who knows under what circumstances though so I have to reserve judgement and just wish the best for the kids.

God bless her, I love stories of kindness.

  • Hell_On_Heelz

I love kids so much so my heart goes out to these special angels. Being in the foster system has to hurt them inside on a whole nother level. And I am certain it is something they have to work hard to come to terms with and over come. Congrats to Ms. Tiff for going above and beyond for these babies!!!

Sad to see kids needs are unmet in GA and other places. They are so innocent. Help a kid today.

Thank you, Ms. Tiffany. People may not give you credit where credit is due, but to so many people, self-esteem and confidence are tied to their appearance.

Children and adults can be bullies. One of the main things people dissect is another person’s hair. That is a major issue particularly amongst Black people, and it needs to stop.

Boys and men need to know they are loved and valued. The care she extends to these boys and young men will impact who they become later in life as husbands and fathers.

She is sowing seeds of goodness and I hope they reap a bountiful harvest for both her and the people she provides her services for.

In every state. Ga isn’t the only place that doesn’t meet the needs of foster kids. I was raised with foster kids and my grandmother paid for them to get their hair done and she also use to press all of our hair.

Thank you Tiffany but why did the instagram post have to mention they were foster kids? I feel like that’s a little insensitive towards the kids. I don’t know why that rubbed me so wrong.

She is a great example of someone working to uplift the community. This is how it starts and hopefully, things will grow from there. For her and those children.

I don’t know how good an idea it is for kids to be getting close to gender bending people like that. I sure will not allow it around my son.
