Cardi B

Cardi B is not impressed with the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements that arose after Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexual misconduct against a plethora of women.

The 25-year-old Bronx native is pleased to see the topic of sexual harassment being discussed, but she isn’t convinced the #Metoo message matters to hip-hop stars, whose slutty behavior is part of their sex appeal.

“A lot of video vixens have spoke about this and nobody gives a f**k,” Cardi told Cosmopolitan U.S. magazine. “When I was trying to be a vixen, people were like, ‘You want to be on the cover of this magazine?’ Then they pull their d**ks out. I bet if one of these women stands up and talks about it, people are going to say, ‘So what? You’re a h*e. It don’t matter.’”

Cardi is also skeptical of some of the men who are publicly voicing their support for the campaigns.

"These producers and directors, they're not woke, they're scared," she insisted.

  • ?Patty Kakes?

I'm with you on this Cardi

  • Trey

    cant argue with that

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

The music industry is so sleazy. It's like the devil's playground.

  • jazmine

    When she's right shes right

  • mzbestseller

Where is the lie? It’s sad but true?????

  • Kim’s Original Face

    the heading is so misleading....

    But I agree with Cardi

  • Knocked Kneed and Pigeon Toed

She keeps is so real!! Funny how they do sexual chit for roles and covers and then want to deal with their demons later and expose people. Nah you sucked that dack for the cover and juggled a couple balls for that role. Deal wit it hoe.

  • Knocked Kneed and Pigeon Toed

Hollywood period. It dont just stop at the music industry they say, movies, tv and even them over at the food network. Dont sleep the devil busy as hell.

  • JV

So, Cardi B says she had guys pull their penises out her for magazine covers, but she won't name names because she thinks no one would care and would just blame her. But she also says in the same breath that lot of male actors and producers are not "woke," but really "scared" right now. Isn't that partly the point?

  • Soon2BWife

I wondered what was the appeal and hype behind Cardi (Carli as my mom calls her). Now I get it. ??

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

    CardiB's none filter saves lives

  • iWasteTime

    She makes several valid points.
That headline ... whooo. Click bate

  • KcoolMuziq

This goes on in EVERY industry! Not just the entertainment industry. Even in The White House it goes on.

  • Diva_woman

So she's saying they pulled them out and then what happened? Is she saying she was a hoe and didn't care?

  • You Could Never

One of the reasons I continue to like her. You said that there Cardi

  • Bonsai

yup... it was a click bait.

  • Yoni7

    Where's the lie?

  • Yoni7

LOL I just asked this. LOL

  • Ni Ni

Ion know. I can never understand what this woman be trying to say. I'm always amazed at the commenters' interpretation of her statements.

  • Rayne

    She’s right.

  • Julia Lyons

She spoke the pure and unadulterated truth! Good job, Cardi!

  • Tyrone Jenkems

    Hollywood is full of hypocrites.
Most women use sex to promote their careers - how can they complain then if they now feel 'abused'?
They gained their careers by being sluts.

  • Mama Dee’s Wig Maker

    She's right though

  • WutizstillHERE!

Reallllest words spoken. It wasn't deception in the hiphop world you knew going in the room whats about to go down sooo..

  • SandraRose

How was it click bait? That's exactly what she said.

  • SandraRose

How is the headline click bait? No disrespect, but did you read the post?

  • IAmLegend

  • angrysolo

prolly the onliest time i’ll agree with ha

  • SandraRose

Please show me how this is misleading.

She said: "A lot of video vixens have spoke about this and nobody gives a f**k."

Please.. Where is the misleading part?

  • TheOwley

She is 100% correct, but the power players won't like this one bit. She will soon discover she is not indispensable.

  • Coy little wink

I get it and I get her...

  • Coy little wink

Headline is missing the context and you know it...

  • Enoughsaid2020

She is so correct, and the harassment will continue. SMH!

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

True. We definitely know the TV news world is like that. We saw Bill Oreilly and Roger Ailes get fired from Fox News for [allegedly] using their power to extract sexual favors from women.
I guess that sort of thing goes on throughout the entertainment & media industries. And other industries too. Sad.

  • morenYAHdelsur

LOL wisdom from Cardi B. She’s right though ??????

First and foremost ALSO no one gives a F--K about her, her baby that she'll kill for fame or her dirty looking cheating man. As far as the metoomovement goes, it is only for the entertainment business because ordinary women have been complaining about this for years. Whereas the stars are only now complaining after they made their money. Stars made their choice to bang for fame. The only thing I give Cardi for is owning the fact that she sells herself for stardom.

Omg I can't believe that I actually understand her and agree....

  • Kim’s Original Face

    Thank you for explaining!

Me too movement a bunch of old arse liberal chicks upset that their looks have faded and now the director has moved on to other actresses. Me too movement is when spreading your legs didn’t get them as far as they thought...
I feel sorry for the real women who are sheroes who had values and did not get an opportunity because the director did not think they were easy. Or the women in the office who get passed for promotions because they have slept with their boss.

From the industry that brought us the Kardashians now want US to believe them with the me too movement!

  • iWasteTime

I did and the Headline and the body of work, don't match.
The headline reads Cardi B says "No one gives a f**ck about #MEtoo"
The write up includes the whole quote and an explanation on why she feels that way.

  • Skin Deep Beauty

  • shelly

Let’s see how fast her handlers say she was misquoted. This is a white movement and they will not be happy with her saying this.

  • MsPam

Who can really take her seriously in whatever she says?! ?????

  • Quitedeliteful

Whelp... she's right... video vixens will be called hoes if they complain too loudly and lots of men in the industry are pretending to be woke but secretly hoping their dirt stays hidden... Cardi B's pea sized brain may not be so small after all... She smarter than she lets on...

  • MsPam

It said THE #MEtoo, you missed a word!

  • Chaseboogie The Prince

    Boy oh boy.

  • iWasteTime

I missed two words, Thanks for playing!!

  • MissHarlem

Super head said this year's ago as well as our common sense so ? but ok it's still a topic

  • 1BlueStar

Ummmm...i think I kinda sorta feel her on this one.But the Alabasters will roast her for saying this; then she'll apologize and all of a sudden that's "not what she meant..."

  • NeverSurprised

Right? The only thing worse would have been for her to call Caitlyn Jenner a man. She better say what they want her to say (move those lips like a puppet), or that star will crash and burn as quickly as it rose.

  • Lady_Elle

I think she is still dumb... perhaps it is her age.
    She is speaking a truth!

I think this will come back to bite her.

    She is speaking a truth!

I think this will come back to bite her.

  • ZRoJoTheLezBeyond
  • Mrs. S. Kidd

The real issue here is no one gives a f**k about Black, mixed & Latina women getting harassed in industries that they deem to be "beneath them". Strippers, video vixens, Louisa the housekeeper, etc get harassed, sexually assaulted and asked to do strange things for some change daily but nobody cares. That's what Cardi is trying to articulate.

  • ZRoJoTheLezBeyond
  • Yoni7

And we shouldn't give one last fukk about "THEM" not being happy.

  • Trace da Ace

well I totally see what she means......cause it is true....women have been associate with being hoes for everything under the they dress, talk and affiliate with....guilty by association?? maybe?? IONOO....I guess this will be the new reason to throw shade.....

Damn wasn’t she on love and hip hop.... well we know she sexualizes herself... that entire show is a rape charge waiting to happen a sexual lawsuit just asking to be brought forward. Hell Vh1 start picking prostitutes and strippers to headline their show about hip hop.... soooo that tells you what they think about sexual harassment they use it to sell their shows.

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

That's exactly how i took it.
A crisis isn't looked at as being a "crisis" in mainstream America unless & until it has a white face and white victims.

Same thing with the "opiod crisis". It wasnt a national emergency when it was just killing "us" in the hood. But once it started killing Scott and Amy in the suburbs, then it became a huge crisis.

  • laidbackgal4real

Agree ... but that’s the choice they chose in that lifestyle..not saying that’s their fault that those people harrassed them because that’s sick as hell ... but after you know what goes down after the fact why even continue on down that path to make it easy to be an object ... and then other women follow for an easy dollar or a so called career ...

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

Men and WOMEN call those women h0es. That's the real reason why, them or their situation, is not taken seriously. Superhead been put the industry on blast and admitted to the part she played in it. So we been knew. We just weren't trying to hear it from her because she was so unapologetic about it. Cardi has come in the industry, sort of the same way but different, so people are listening. But as you said, the housekeepers, strippers and video vixens, will still be told to sit this one out because their voice doesn't matter.

  • You Could Never

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

I guess she didnt want to get into that aspect of it, one way or the other. She just wanted to say women have always been expected to do sexual favors in the hip hop world and it was just a part of the industry. Nobody cared about sexual harassment when it was black and brown women being affected.
She's making a very good point there.

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

I hear you, but they're still the victims though. Let's point the finger at the perpetrators, not the victims. It's pretty sleazy that a woman should be expected to do sexual favors just to be part of a music video or whatever. Let's not let the dudes off the hook.

  • MsPam

True, but if you don’t want to be called a hoe don’t act like one!

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

Same thing with g?ns. When Jamal and Lil' John John was kïlling blacks in the hood, it wasn't a problem. Now Seth and Paul are sh00ting up schools and public places, where the majority are white, we have an epidemic on our hands.

  • joel adams

Cardi B has a "team" of ratchets keeping her "ONE" way. This ain't new news auntie. She working. We all work

  • Diva_woman

I know, she says so little but they find so much in her statements. ?????

  • laidbackgal4real

    You are absolutely right !

  • Crazy tee

When you’re b00ty is loose and will rock with the donkey next door will give you these results

  • NeverSurprised

If we're talking the world of hip hop, I'll bet far more young black men have been sexually propositioned than women. If some of those young men/boys who were pressured to sleep with Diddy start speaking up, you'll have a #metoo monsoon on your hands.

  • Roxie Moxie

Right!! I said the same exact thing. I don't think she's dumb, per se, but it could just be her delivery?

Her decisions regarding her relationship is something EVERY woman has been through so lest we not throw shade concerning that. However, I still don't prefer her music though. lol

  • The Goode Queen

This headline totally missed the point of what she said....but whateva
    ....i already clicked. ??

  • Sally Wright McLinn

    She right. :)

  • C Mack

Click bait title taken out of context. Cardi’s absolutely right!

  • the guest

    100% right.

  • the guest

    Her frankness is refreshing.

  • the guest

Young black men I believe are terribly abused and compromised in the industry in exchange for connections and fame and no one does anything about it.

  • imright

shes right !!! side note: if Cardi is preg i dont want to see her at Coachella !!! cant make bloody moves with a gut full of Offset !!! ????? no maam

  • the guest

What Cardi is saying in her words is that #MeToo and #TimesUp are elitist movements that care about the rights of rich white celebrities, some token rich black female celebrities, and non-famous white actresses.

Nobody stands up against the harassment and abuses of the everyday black and latin girl.

  • the guest

  • Quitedeliteful

    Now this is true also....

  • Quitedeliteful

True... Young and dumb -- It happens to a lot of folks LOL!!! Hopefully her statements come back to bite her because she really is telling the truth...

  • SDot

it's not saying she dont care abou trape...she dont care that these white ppl are now voicing this. We've been expressing this and NO ONE DID NOTHING! I hear you cardi

  • exlurker

    Lol @ the names.

  • ViolettaBliss

of course she doesn't care !!!! She is a nasty stripper hoe with zero morals. Precisely the type that the industry likes to regal with money and fame so they can control and manipulate them easily.

  • SemajBeyPhilly

    She’s absolutely right. I concur 1mil percent.

  • Yes, I Said That

The #MeToo movement definitely needs to be applied to hip hop and R&B. Black women's sexual harassment, rape, domestic violence and disrespect as a woman has been a serious problem that's been over looked for far too long! Our cries for justice have always been laughed at and deeply questioned by whites and unfortunately by our own people, especially black men. The longer we stay silent as a community, the more society (police and law makers) shout, "if they don't care about their own women, then why should we". Since Diddy declared in GQ magazine that he's boldly standing for black culture/black excellence, how bout he starts by making hip hop and R&B spaces safe for black women. Even THOTS concerns should be voiced. Ask yourself what caused a THOT to be a THOT? Negligence and dismissiveness by so called love ones and the community sprouts lots of pain/negative behavior. There are more Russell Simmons lurking in hip hop and R&B that need to be exposed so that a positive healing and revolution can emerge in black music and the black community.

  • datjerk

    You didn't read the article.

  • Monday

Karine Steffans spoke about the men in the industry back then...

  • Tausha T. W.

    Cardi B. is right.

  • Gloria

And Nobody cared. Just like Cardi B said.

  • Gloria

The title of this article is so misleading lol

  • BeautyIsland.Weebly.

Why do you think they only let one or two female rappers "shine" at a time? So many lyrical ladies graced my ears over the years. However they are consistently blocked cuz most will NOT suck *&#^a !!

  • Ms.Devereaux

SHE recently spoke about it in her live video she said she talked about all this before the me too movement and all ppl did was call her a hoe. SHe said nobody really supported her

  • Ms.Devereaux

I wonder why hardly any black actresses or singers spoke out I feel like they not saying anything because they feel if they do they won’t work again unlike the white ones that have spoke out.

  • MistaO

Nope, wrong. People really just don't want to hear most females like that anyways. Js...

  • MistaO

Yea, like she's some shining example of a victim...yea right. Ho e's like her did more damage to the essence of womanhood than any of these alleged harrassers...

  • MistaO

because she was and is a w hore.

  • BeautyIsland.Weebly.

Well I guess you feel women must be seen and not heard. I'll let you speak. But I will no longer respond.
Entertaining misogyny is not a hobby of mine.

    Be well..

  • millz

Whoop whoop I’ll be there 4/20 weekend ?

  • keeVA

Your outlook is the problem. Karrine has been exploited her whole life, including by her ex husband RAPPER Cool G Rap. That man abused and raped her, as had been done since she was a child. Shes a product of her environment and its sad

  • MRiGOThim

Well, most of these girls on Love & Flip Flop be fuckin for beats & gets nowhere...Cardi B just shut up & be glad u made it :P

  • Brianna

And theyre all easy too. Its one thing to advocate for it if you said no and left but if you get down on your knees then you know whats up. Its not that mans fault you are weak and will sacrifice your values for your career. "But if I dont do it then the next woman will !" "So!". You walked into the room, you can walk out. What are YOU worth? No one can decide that for you. No one made these girls do anything and I think everyone overlooks that. Should men use their positions of power as leverage for sex ? No, but if you getting down then you're guilty too b/c you help fuel the culture. You sucked that dick and got that gig and made millions of dollars and stunt on the gram with all that you bought. I don't see a hashtag about that. And I get tired of hearing people compain about their sob upbringings. EVERYONE had shit growing up. We can all share fucked up stories and share a collective "damn" from wealthy to poor. The thing is wtf do you do with it. Its one thing to say oh my daddy raped me and I became a prostitute and heres how I turned things around vs . . . and I became a prostitute and I'm still a prostitute and let me tell you about all the ways I've been wronged but haven't really learned shit. People hate personal responsibility. . . . . . I'm done. . . Sorry.

  • ThaGuru

Funny I'm reading her book now!

  • speakinmymind

    @Brianna...keep speaking truth to power!???

  • free

didn't she show up to auditions naked though?

  • Sircaput

You just did exactly what she is talking about!

  • sunni_daze

Sadly she is right abiut how society views some women in certain industries, hell the vixens have even said that this happens.

  • Banka

kool G Rap, get it kool not cool and Karrine really, a woman that called her self Super Head ..!!!

  • Trace da Ace

    True, I feel you....

  • Banka

  • Ms.Devereaux

    SMH idk

  • Ms.Devereaux

  • Monday

  • Ms.Devereaux

    Now you got a point!!!
