Leftwing media outlet The Daily Beast suspended homophobic journalist Joy Reid after new anti-gay posts surfaced online. The Daily Beast lost confidence in the embattled host of MSNBC's "AM Joy" after she alleged someone hacked her old blog and posted anti-gay content.
In the newly found posts Reid said all gay men are potential child molesters. And most heterosexuals "cringe" at the sight of 2 gay men kissing.
She also said you might be gay if you have an Anderson Cooper haircut.
A prominent gay rights group withdrew an invitation and rescinded an award Reid was scheduled to accept next month.
“We’re going to hit pause on Reid’s columns,” wrote Daily Beast executive editor Noah Shachtman in an internal email. “As you’re well aware, support for LGBTQ rights and respect for human dignity are core to Daily Beast. So we’re taking seriously the new allegations that one of our columnists, Joy Reid, previously wrote homophobic blog posts during her stint as a radio host.”
Shachtman added, “We’ve all said and done things in our lives that we wish we hadn’t done. We deserve the room to grow beyond our past. But these allegations are serious enough that they deserve a full examination.”
Reid previously apologized for anti-gay posts she wrote on her now shuttered blog, The Reid Report. But she denied authoring the new posts. Through her lawyer, she alleged that her blog was hacked.
Reid's lawyer announced the FBI is investigating the alleged hacking. But Reid's blog posts - with its anti-gay content - were archived in the The Library of Congress in 2006 - before the alleged hacking.
Reid wrote the posts in 2006 when bloggers had more freedom to express their opinions about homosexuals.
Far left NBC is standing by its host who didn't hide her disapproval of gays until Barack Obama began to push his gay agenda in 2012.
