Cynthia Bailey's ex-husband Peter Thomas was released from a Miami jail on Wednesday after resolving the check fraud issue that led to his arrest last Friday.

Thomas, 58, who occasionally makes cameo appearances on RHOA, was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant from Louisiana after he got off a flight at Miami International Airport.

He was wanted for allegedly writing a $4,000 check to a Louisiana man that bounced.

E! News reported Thomas was released Wednesday after his attorney delivered a $4,000 check to the man to resolve the issue.

"It was an unfortunate misunderstanding. There was no intent on Mr. Thomas part to not pay," Thomas' attorney, Keith Doley, told E! News. "There was a misunderstanding about a performance that didn't happen. It's all been resolved."

Doley said the St. John the Baptist Parish District Attorney will not pursue charges against Thomas.

Soon after his release, Thomas took to Instagram to savor his freedom.

"Hey Instagram world. I can not sleep because I'm still (expletive) up over the last six days," Thomas said. "But you know what? Feels so blessed to be in my bed tonight. That I can get up and go to the shower, restroom, the refrigerator, the balcony to go look outside, and I don't have to ask permission to."

Thomas owns multiple clubs in Charlotte, North Carolina and one in Miami's South Beach.

aww Cynthia is such a good ex-wife. she spotted him the money.
    Peter broke as hell

  • VernadineTheQueen?

I don’t watch reality shows, but I thought he was sick.????? Anyways that mug shot got him looking like he drunk and full of bad decisions.???

  • Yoni7

How sad that a black BUSINESSMAN has to stay in jail over a bad check, that only took 4k to resolve. HOW can you open a/several club(s) and not have the money to get out of jail. I thought his "friend's" would come through in a clutch.

  • WutizstillHERE!

Does he has a medical issue? His eyes look like he has jaundice.

  • Trey

He prolly has more than Cynthia tho

  • Truth7981

    He is pathetic

  • WinterIsComing

How can you issue a bad check unless there was not enough money in the account to cover it? Perhaps he got his checkbooks confused?

  • What???

    Perhaps he canceled the check.

  • XoXo

He’s such a loser. I’m still laughing about Cynthia’s mother and sister hiding the marriage license. That should’ve been the red flag for Cynthia.

  • GAPeach

That's still fraud if you know you owe the money, and since he paid, it was owed.

  • Yoni7

But she probably manages hers better.......which happens often.

  • xenaD

    All that weed probably

  • GAPeach

Well, Apollo is in jail, and Todd probably didn't want to ask Kandi if he could take it out of his piggy bank

  • Dem Moore

    They putting everybody in jail.

  • NeverSurprised

I was thinking the same thing. The whites of his eyes are completely discolored.

  • Coy little wink

    He stay zooted

  • Michelle Peele

So it took 6 days to come up with $4k and he has several clubs? Are they not doing well?

  • Coy little wink

    Alright now papa smurf!

  • WutizstillHERE!

    ohhh that would make sense!

  • What???

If that’s the case than banks would be accessories to fraudulent transactions because its one of their services. A check recipient really only knows that their check didn’t clear they don’t know why and if they do know why they can run to the police like any woman can cry rape and get any man arrested.

  • NeverSurprised

I doubt that he actually "owns" several clubs. He likely has investors who are majority owners or he is leveraged to the hilt. If he actually IS the owner, to not have $4,000 in liquid assets is inexplicable.

  • KcoolMuziq

Peter had a harem of a whose who of black ,successful women in Hollywood like the VERY successful RK.

  • Coy little wink

What about you...you need a vet on yo team?

  • Guest

Why is his eyes so red?

  • xxxgracious

I feel like cynthia and I are just alike. Were nice people but end up being used by manipulators like Peter. I'm glad she removed herself from him. She deserves happiness. Speaking of which, I'm selling a Maltese puppy. I told my ex to get the word around. How about his manipulative ass calls and says his brother and wife will take the dog. I said okay did u tell them there was a fee. He told me I should be happy hes going to a good home and I shouldnt charge them. WTH I'm nice but not nice enough to give away a $800 pup. He's currently trying to guilt trip me into giving it to the family and also had his sister in law call me asking what time I'm dropping the dog off. SMH!

  • WhoKnew

Why would Peter "old man winter" Thomas resolve an issue regarding check fraud when he vehemently denied it was him? Oh, I forgot. He got that selective memory like R. "crying like a beyotch" Kelly and "thick neck" Benzino who went on TV to vehemently deny that the drugs were his. Oops. They all forgot about a thing called evidence.

  • Skin Deep Beauty

He looks like a snake eyed yuckmeister! Nothing attractive about this guy. He looks like an Uncle Ben's add!

  • Renee26

Tell them to kick rocks... He's an ex for a reason ?

    The distraction is real!

  • Skin Deep Beauty

    A pathetic narcissist

  • Renee26

    I hope it was a cashier's check

  • Renee26

Soon as he made a fraudulent move with her money she dipped on dat azz... She's smart

  • Yardgirl

The most common cause in some Black people is melanin pigment in the surface tissue of the eye, known as the sclera and conjunctiva. My dad had it and so do a lot of Jamaicans including Peter (not saying it is only Jamaicans that have it but it's what I know first hand)

  • Renee26

    Doubt it

  • Michelle Peele

Nah...I would need straight cash from Peter. $10's and $20's!!! LOL

  • Guest

    Thanks. Good to know.

  • Trace da Ace

damn....his eyes looks like mine after I have smoked a fatty to the face......

dats all I gots.....tired of folks that their fukked up finances....

    HAPPY FRIDAY ROSES!

  • xxxgracious

Yeah he's a pain in the ass. We broke up because he doesnt believe in milestones. He's in his 30's and I'm six years younger. I told him that's fine and broke up with him. Hes a waiter with a degree but refuses to use it. He swears he knows everything but doesnt do a damn thing. Hes the type to come over turn up your heat and use your dryer because he rather spend money bar hopping with his boys but turns the other cheek when the ga power bill arrives. I honestly thought dating older men would be better but its way worse. Should have listened to my mother.

  • Renee26

Nah just try a different type of older man...a mature one with his ish in order

  • xxxgracious

    Gotcha! I'll keep looking.

  • WhoKnew

Tell all of them, especially the EX to kick dog poop rocks. Oh, and as far as the sister-in-law goes the next time she ask you when you're dropping the dog off tell her when she coughs up the cash cuz you don't do checks.

  • xxxgracious

Lmao! I only spoke to her once and that was year ago. I was shocked she called me and asked what time am I bringing the dog because she has to be at work at 12. I asked her what did my ex tell her and she said he told me you have a Maltese with bed and cage included. And I said yes but I told him I'd sell the dog for $600 and she said to call her if no one gets the dog. Yeah sure lady!

  • WhoKnew

Dating an older man is better in my opinion. You just need to find the right one. Someone that's established and has goals and, more importantly, one who will treat you as you deserve to be treated. See his deadbeat ass trynna get you to give an expensive dog to his family for free so it's obvious the apple don't fall too far from the family tree because the deadbeat family expects "free" too.

  • MsSapphire9800

To distract the fact that Weinstein new defense team was in court yesterday to get his case push back...he is now due in court June 3rd.

  • Allergic2dumbstuff

Ya learn something new every day. Thanks!

  • xxxgracious

Oh yes they are all like that starting from his mother. He hid the fact that she lived with him when we first started dating. Then once I found out I thought it was the other way around but he went out of his way to show me his lease and everything. I didnt really like it but his mom and I developed a great relationship. But I started to see that he was a mamas boy and would always put her first. Which is fine but it just showed he wasnt ready for marriage. He told me if we ever did we would have to make sure his mom has a room and I let him know we should be friends. His mother doesn't work and doesn't own a car. I noticed she would text me asking about my day and would put in how she wishes she had someone drive her to the grocery store and etc. I saw her once walking to CVS when I was heading to his place. I called him and said I'm not sure if I just saw your mom but I think shes heading to CVS. He cursed me out and told me to go get her and he would do the same for my mom. My mom was like hold up he wouldnt have to worry about that cause I'm independent. (Mom hated him said he was a downgrade) I use to hate when we would go out to dinner and he would order food to go for his mom and we'd drop it off and carry on with our night. I'm so happy I walked away.

  • Yardgirl

    Welcome

  • Yardgirl

    Welcome!

  • Yoni7

Not being in this man's pockets but, living the life (we see on TV) he portrays (flying into all states, clubs, decent car(s?), no actual 9 to 5 like the rest of us) it seems like that 4k would just be sitting in his wallet at the ready.

  • Yoni7

    What bout Greg? IJS LOL

  • Logan Roberts

I think Cynthia is a Pisces, so that explains the always being used.

  • Allergic2dumbstuff

Right! Never except a check when you had to file a check fraud suit. Pete had better run those dolla dolla bills while the victim breaks out the trusty ole counterfeit bill detector pen... with the upgraded chisel tip.

  • xxxgracious

    I'm a pisces too!!!

  • Allergic2dumbstuff

This reminds me of that Kevin Hart joke.

  • NeverSurprised

No, THAT older man was worse. Doesnt mean all of them are.

No matter who you date, first set some standards of what YOU want in a mate. Anyone who does not meet those standards is not worth your time. MOVE ON and expand your social circle (there are literally millions of single men in this country).. Attend events where you will meet PROFESSIONAL men who have set career goals and can clearly articulate what they are doing to reach those goals. Also, don't waste time on anyone who does not treat you with respect at all times

  • ATL White Guy

Why is a old man constantly on social media sharing his day? Isn't he about 50 years too old for this? #InstagramBanOne. #Don'tHaveHistoryOfBouncingChecksandFraudOne. #SeeingAOldManInBedIsWeirdIfHeThinksWeCareOne

  • Marlika

Anyone who accepts a check from this fool is a even bigger fool!! He would have to give me cash or a certified check! With cash I would have my marker and blue light to make sure the bills aren’t counterfeit.

He needs to be deported the next time he does this foolishness!!

  • xxxgracious

Your so right. I need to get out more.

  • MNjumpoffacliff

I bet he's happy to be out of there, never been never wanna go. Enjoy your weekend ?

  • NeverSurprised

You mean NENE's money, because I doubt Greg even remembers what a paycheck looks like.

  • EasyBreezy

    Yikes!

  • Topic Influencer

    Fukk Uncle Ben

  • GAPeach

You statement really doesn't make a lot of sense to me. A bank will accept a check you've deposited. They have no way of knowing if it's good or not. Once it bounces, they will take those funds right back out of your account.

Knowingly writing a fraudulent check is definitely a crime. If the person you write it to takes it to the police you will ABSOLUTELY be arrested. I wasn't speaking of recipients, and I'm not sure you thought that at all. I'm only speaking of the person who wrote the check. That's why he was in jail, and had to work over that $4k so he wouldn't be prosecuted.

  • Vegas1989
  • What???

You don’t know WHEN Peter issued that check or whether it was a deposit check for services or goods in advance of production. You don’t even know if Peter was dissatisfied with whatever services or goods it was for. If he paid by credit card (legal), he would’ve disputed it with his bank, when you pay by check, you would obviously Cancel the check (legal). Maybe he did that. Maybe he should’ve taken the payee to court but it wasn’t worth the time and expense to him. At this point it’s easier to just pay the 4K to get out of jail than deal with a case. All I’m saying is, you’re prejudiced. You don’t know why that check was returned or the surrounding circumstances. Maybe he’s a fraud or maybe he had a legitimate reason.

  • Skin Deep Beauty

RIGHT! Old arse tryna catch poon poon followers!

  • Alextra Ballard

Peter ain had 4,000 dollas in da bank?

  • MsChocolate

not true...I'm Pisces and it doesn't apply to me

  • MsChocolate

    lol..

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com Ms.Devereaux

Don’t let ya hand write a check that yo bank can’t cash!

  • GAPeach

OMG! The article clearly stated it was check fraud, which would mean he wrote a check. This has nothing to do with credit cards. This had to do with a business venture, so it doesn't have anything with him being dissatisfied with services. Even is it had, you STILL cannot knowingly write a check to someone and stop payment. That is FRAUD. If you feel that way, then you don't pay, then let them take you to court for payment. You calling me prejudiced is childish. I'm stating facts. The law is the law. You seem really emotional over this, so maybe that clouds your view of reality. Now, I'm not going to go back and forth with you over FACTS. I'm also not about to deal with your "what if it was" scenarios. He wasn't arrested for no reason. Even HE isn't arguing it. He knows he was arrested legitimately. Now you have a good day.

  • What???

He was accused of check fraud not convicted of check fraud. The Credit card dispute was just an example you just don’t want to receive it. Plus You’re wrong, you CAN write a check to someone knowingly and then cancel it. The fraud is when there is theft of goods and/or services otherwise banks would not provide check cancellation services. Eat that and enjoy your day.

  • girlyardie

Then after u give it to them, he is going to tell u they lost it or something similar.. he trying to beat u out the $800 to sell it himself an keep all the $$ good luck and stay strong an keep your options open

  • Seldomseen

Peter who you doing business with in Laplace, Louisiana? That DA does not play.

  • girlyardie

The pickings are truthfully slim out here, becuz I can't see how a beautiful classy woman like Cynthia end with a douche bag loser like Petra/Peter

  • Michelle Peele

LMAO!!!! ain't nobody messing with Peter. Got 75 clubs and it took him six days to come up with $4k.

  • GAPeach

I have worked in the banking industry for over 25 years. Knowingly stopping payment of a check when the funds are due is FRAUD. It's why he was arrested. You think they arrested him because they were bored? You have a good day too.

  • Peppermint Patty

    Awwwwwww gee thanks!!

  • What???

That’s true but You walked right into my original point which is that at the time the check was deposited he may have thought he did NOT owe it due to a dispute. IF HE HAS A GOOD REASON FOR STOP PAYMENT THAN ITS NOT CHECK FRAUD. Then they can hash it out in civil court, particularly if the funds were indeed available, otherwise it’s fraud...but if Peter didn’t pursue anything civil against the payee he leaves himself open to a bad check charge by the payee. That’s why he was arrested. Why spend money to sue the payee when you’ve already cancelled the check!! I bet you’re a great bank janitor though, but thanks anyway.

  • JENNYJONES1

PETER KNOWS THERE ARE A LOOOOOOTTTT MORE OF THOSE CHECKS OUT THERE; HE NEEDS TO HAVE LEARNED A LESSON FROM THIS AND GO AHEAD AND PAY THEM B4 THIS HAPPENS AGAIN.........JENNY JONES!!!

  • Eileen

its not to late enlarge your circle

  • country57

Thank your lucky stars that man is history.

  • Allergic2dumbstuff

    Ikr? ?

  • 2gr8ful

Because they want “likes”and that is how they get their joy. Wake up and feel relevant by “posting” so the world can see that Peter is still doing good “hey look at me”...smh

  • 2gr8ful

Also don’t waste time on a whole date. My girlfriend had the best method. Tell them you only have 10 minutes and to meet you for coffee before work. 10 minutes is short but you know whether its worth it to entertain a “date”. If he is not willing to meet you for 10 minutes unless his schedule conflicts NEXT. That way she didnt spend a dinner/lunch date with someone who was a waste of time. She is now happily married going on 3 years.

  • dontgetblocked

It wasn't a misunderstanding. It took him six days in prison to get the $4000 together. So the check bounced because he didn't have the dough. He probably got a couple of payday loans.

  • Logan Roberts

Peter's beard looks like cotton balls lol. You are not a regular 58 year old senior citizen Peter, so why didn't you have $4000?

  • xxxgracious
